You get about 2-3 seconds where somebody makes up their mind whether or not to continue reading a post. And a picture will help drive engagement immensely. On the other hand, just having a link, and people will click backwards more often. Don't make your readers do more work, basically. That said, it's a cool looking model, and I like the base.
