Space wolf channel - new to war gaming

Hey everyone,

I hope this is allowed.. I'm new here (although i've been lurking for a couple of weeks or so) and new to war gaming in general. The site was a really useful resource when I was doing some research. I decided to start off my own Youtube channel to document my journey into the Warhammer 40k universe and hopefully down the line it will help other people trying to get in to the game. I've chosen Space Wolves as my army so hopefully it will be of interest to some of you and it would be awesome if my brothers from Fenris gave the channel some support.

The video is far from amazing, but it's the first time i've ever done anything like this. I'm hoping if I get some views then i'll improve as I get some practice and eventually I can have lots of battle reports, painting videos, and tactics.

I'll put a link below and as I say, any support, comments, likes etc. would be really appreciated.

Thanks :)

For starters, welcome to the Fang!

Interesting idea with the youtube. While I commend you for doing it (more balls than I've got), I'll make some comments in hopes to make it better.

While I know it's your first episode, some of this probably goes without saying. A little bit more energy will go a long way to keeping interest. Some of it can be attributed to reading off a script. Also, no offense, but for a gaming vlog, it'd be more interesting to look at elements of the game rather than your face (again, first episode, so I'll assume this will improve.) In the future, I would invest in some better lighting and camera angle.

All minor stuff, so take it as you will. Regardless, great job!

Thanks for watching and appreciate the feedback. Totally agree with pretty much everything you've said. Hopefully next time i'll have some models finished, if not the whole unit so i'm sure i'll be showing those off at the very least. I think I was a little bit unsure what I was doing and was leaning on the script a bit but hopefully as I get more comfortable and gain more knowledge the delivery will improve.

I found out today about some small points games that are being played at my local store. They started at 400ish I think and they are now playing 600 (and will continue to build from there by 200 points every few weeks) which sound perfect for a noob to get stuck in to. So I think i'm going to throw myself in at the deep end which should make for more interesting videos in the next couple of weeks.

The guys were cool and said as long as i've got stuff built and primed I can use it, even though i'm sure i'll be obsessive and get stuff done pretty quick... Now I just need to come up with a 600pt force and some tactics.

Thanks.

That's cool, to be honest the channel is really there to help me learn and maybe help a couple of people down the line rather than me trying to be a massive channel (granted being a success would make that easier as i'd get more comments and people are more likely to see it).

Welcome to the fang  and i wish you luck in your  vblog.

Now i  personely  think the  snow basing on spaces wolves is over done.  every one and ther brother  who playes  space wolves  does them on snow bases.  i would recomend switching  it up a littel mabey   have  muddy patches and  others have  grass parts  as  nothing but  snow flock on the bases is boring  that is my sugestion you can take it or leave it . Other then that   i have found that  for  drybrushing you just have to work at  it to get it  just  right it takes some  tiem just  doing it other then tha tthe  paint looked  good from what i could see of it.
