TheCrazyCaptain
Evening all, I think I'm going crazy. I've been studying the codex all day (I'm fed up of silly mistakes and over reliance on a flawed army builder). I've got to the land speeders, and "hit the wall". I just can't make sense of the entry. I've also taken a look at FAQ 1.2) In the codex, page 91, I see 3 types of land speeder being talked about. But there's only one stat line for the, With the tempest, are the weapons offered in addition to the weapons you've already taken, or instead of? I mean - you can get a heavy bolter on the land speeder... Or you can pay for one on the tempest. Why would you pay for a tempest? Or is it that you're buying a second heavy bolter? And with the typhoon, is the launcher I place of the heavy bolter, or as well as? dswanick
All C:SW Land Speeders come with a Heavy Bolter stock. This H.Bolter can be replaced with a weapon chosen from the first option list for the specified points. Any Land Speeder can then be upgraded to carry a second weapon for the points cost indicated. If the weapon is taken from the second option list it is referred to as a "Tornado-pattern" Land Speeder. If the second weapon chosen is a Typhoon Missile Launcher (the third option), it is referred to as a "Typhoon-pattern" Land Speeder. As for the "Tempest-pattern", that's a Forge World variant with Assault Cannon, Missile Launchers, and an armored cockpit. SW1
Think your getting the versions mixed up, the forgeworld "Tempest" variant of the Land Speeder has an armoured and enclosed single seat cockpit, nose mounted Assault Cannon and side mounted missiles. Wulfebane
In the codex, "replace x weapon" is self-explanatory. Anytime the codex says "upgrade", read "in addition to standard loadout".
