henrywalker
theres almost anything you can do when converting an inquisitor. they can be in anything from robes to terminator armour. If you want a terminator theres nothing to stop you just using a plain old terminator however you can convert as much and use as much detail as possible. at the minimum its best not to use bits from grey knight terminators (other than the inquisitor shoulder pad) to be different from the rest. If you want to go more "realistic" then its worth remembering that inquisitors are not post-human and so are a lot smaller, its therefore a good idea to base your inquisitor on an old terminator body as they were much smaller. the rank and file were quite static so old characters are a good pick. I took a finecast abbadon body and filed off all the iconoraphy etc and it works really well as a smaller, baroque piece of armour that looks like the inquisitor had it custom made. or you could go crazy and get witch hunter tyrus from the inquisitor line with the idea that the inquisitor is in a big ol batle suit Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277309-omi-how-do-i-make-one/#findComment-3401025 Share on other sites
Brother Maikel
I used GK arms & shoulder pads on a standard Terminator body (specifically the AoBR Sergeant). I also painted his armour gold instead of silver, and he has a bare head (while all of my GK Terminators have helmets on), so he sticks out from the rest of the terminators. Justicar Enethys
For my two OMIs, I used two generic TDA bodies and applied Inquisitorial iconography and pieces obtained from multiple GK sets. I didn't go overboard as less is often more. A litle Inquisitorial sigil here, a book with Inquisitorial markings etched on the spine there, etc etc. I added a single GK shouder pad to each OMI in much the same way as Deathwatch marines have a single shoulder pad replaced with their Ordo Xenos signature piece. It tied my OMIs in with my GKTs while highlighting the obvious differences. I used bare heads on my OMIs as opposed to my GKTs who are all fully helmeted. This added a little more character to my OMIs and allowed me to make it look like the man inside wasn't of such large proportions as the GK would be. The heads look quite small compared to the armour (Relative to the helmets), and as Inquisitors aren't post-human like GKs - this gave the perfect representation without having to alter the scale of any pieces used. One of my OMIs has a NDH and the other has a NFS. For these I used the stock NDH and NFS found in the GKT box with a couple of tiny conversions to make them a little more 'bling'. Again - it ties in with the aesthetic of my GKTs while marking them apart as something unique. Lastly, both of my OMIs in TDA have Psycannons (Obviously!). I have made both of these different so as to appear custom made for their respective owners. They are wielded in different hands and have different ammo feeds and cabling. They are clearly Psycannons visually - but are not stock, 'off the sprue', GKT Psycannons. Painting wise - I also painted my OMIs darkgold/bronze. They stand apart from the GKTs nicely - with obvious links such as shoulder pads, some iconography and their weapons. I painted lighter gold swirls and patterns onto their armour to show their Inquisitorial ostentation and flair. Sigvard
Building on what the Justicas has said I have even gone so far as to add things to the armour of the Inquisitor based on their home world. So my Inquisitor is from Fenris, in honour of my Space Wolf army I also run. Her Hammer currently is a Space Wolf Thunder Hammer and along with her Inquisitorial items such as a books and such I have gone with some more traditional Space Wolf items in honor of her heritage.
