Mahoo
Hello! As the title suggests I'm looking for a bit of feedback on themaulerfiend I'm building. It's all early stages but I just want someopinions before I start gluing everything together. 2 parts I'm looking for your opinions on. 1. The base, what do you guys think? My corsairs are on lava themedbases so I'll be painting up the empty space accordingly. Do you thinkthe base is too much? Too big and silly? 2. The "flesh". I've included a photo of the fleshy bits, I've wentfor a silver metallic with a heavy red wash over it. Do you think thislooks good or would an actual flesh colour (with an odd colour wash)look better? Any feedback would be awesome and greatly appreciated! Also, please excuse the photo quality, iPhones aren't exactly the best thing for these kind of photos Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277314-maulerfiend-need-some-feedback/ Share on other sites

Mahoo
Thanks! What'd you think about the flesh parts? Keep the silver and red wash or try a skin colour? Dedlok
I think the flesh parts work, just maybe speckle some black on them, like soot, to dirty them up a bit? Mahoo
Thanks for the reply. I'll be adding in some silver and brass on the gear and piston parts to break up the colour. I haven't added any weathering to the army as a whole although I am considering it as something to start doing (I'm a little OCD when it comes to tying the army together so I'd need to go back and weather everything I've already done). I might set a few weeks aside when I'm finished and add in loads of soot and dust to everything I've already done Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277314-maulerfiend-need-some-feedback/#findComment-3401555 Share on other sites
Preacher No'ki
I really like the base, definitely don't think it's too much. As for the flesh, it may just be the pictures or my own personal taste but there doesn't appear to be much contrast/distinction between the two. I'd perhaps darken the armour plating a bit more or find a not so "redish" skin tone. Other than that you've done a great job, looking forward to seeing it progress.
