See, I just don't see how they can be referred to as "killer." They should be judged in comparison to their opportunity cost.

 

At BASE (i.e. no power weapons), such a unit costs 315 points. It's not a killer use of 315 points.

 

On the charge, they have 2 rapid fire shots, 1 HoW, and 4 CC attacks. That's the same as Swiftclaws. But you'd get twice as many swiftclaws. That means the swiftclaw unit would be literally twice as durable and twice as killy. BS/WS 3 makes a small dent in that, but not a lot. Doubling the numbers makes more difference.

 

And you could get 6 TWC for the slightly less too... they have 2 wounds, roughly the same number of attacks, but they're S5 and Rending.

 

Sure, your unit might do some damage... sometimes an impressive amount (if you imagine you paid a reasonable price for them... say, 150 points). But considering their actual points cost, they're rarely going to perform very well at all.
