Daylight
Does anyone know what pattern of bolter is shown in this picture? Its in the top middle. It seems to show up in all the HH cover art, and it kind of reminds me of the old RT bolters. http://theshellcase.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/betrayer_final_lo_003.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277394-hh-cover-art-bolters/ Share on other sites
Kol Saresk
Your closest bet would be the Tigris pattern from the looks of it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277394-hh-cover-art-bolters/#findComment-3402705 Share on other sites
Conn Eremon
Those don't look anything alike . . . Picture's bolter has a sickle shaped clip and small handle-like grip that's shorter than the clip. Kol Saresk
It looks closer than the other three. There was one that had a sickle clip, but was too skinny in the forward area. I'm having a massive brain fart trying to think of what's called. Anyway, that bolter is the Umbra Pattern. If you took the sickle clip and slapped it onto the Tigris, it'd probably be the closest you'd ever get. Disruptor_fe404
Either Umbra or Phobos. I would say Phobos, but you could make a case for either. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277394-hh-cover-art-bolters/#findComment-3402729 Share on other sites
Kol Saresk
Okay, so this is a close up of the bolter in question right? http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/bleachit54/bolter1_zps60f96637.png Okay so would this one look close enough? http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/bleachit54/bolter2_zps1183fbd1.png Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277394-hh-cover-art-bolters/#findComment-3402736 Share on other sites
Disruptor_fe404
The blue casing going around the gun's butt makes me think Phobos, honestly. And of course, there's always the potential that the artist was applying broad strokes. Kol Saresk
I admit, crappier than the first one. But is this closer? http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc69/bleachit54/bolter3_zps3896fe51.png Edit, so far that is photoshopped from a base Tigris, with an Umbra bolt clip and the shoulder from the Phobos, as best as I could manage it. But yeah, I think this was just a baseline bolter. You're either going to get close or not at all. Unless you want to do some major effort. Daylight
That's actually pretty close. I think I will just pick the Tigris or Phobos, though, and call it close enough lol. SillyDreadnought
I'm more inclined to say Phobos or Umbra. Tigris is far too compact to be that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277394-hh-cover-art-bolters/#findComment-3402908 Share on other sites
Carach
umbra looks by far the closest resemblance to the gun in the pic. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277394-hh-cover-art-bolters/#findComment-3402925 Share on other sites
Reinholt
Take a Phobos. Cut the extended barrel with the smaller holes in the front, as well as the extension of the lower piece of casing beyond the (now shorter) barrel of the gun off. Then you have the bolter in the picture. Slim front profile, but sickle clip with exposed ammo, and the semi-triangular piece where the clip feeds in. Grotsmasha
It looks like the 2nd ed plastic bolsters to me.... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277394-hh-cover-art-bolters/#findComment-3405071 Share on other sites
Don the Oiler
It should be noted that the artist designed these way before FW even thought about their Phobos, Tigris and Umbra bolters. So, It looks like the 2nd ed plastic bolsters to me.... seems like the best call to me. Disruptor_fe404
Honestly, to me, the Phobos is the 2nd Ed bolter (but updated to meet current standards for model detail).
