irwit
Hi all, simple question? I don't see why he shouldn't be able to. I'm just thinking currently I am thinking wolf lord in a pod with some combiplasma WG. Tda, hammer, shield, bear. Basically a combat knightmare that's hard to shift in enemy deployment turn 1. However he's expensive, well over 200 points. Also I have always thought lone wolf was as good as a wolf lord with fnp, ew, and coming in at well under 100 points. So use that's 130 points or so towards a land raider. Its assault vehicle so hell be in combat turn 2, same as the WL. He's as deadly, but he's also coming with a land raider to boot. This is also gives another unit a half price land raider for their needs too. So what do people think? Good idea? Wulfebane
You can if you purchase the land raider under a heavy support slot. Whether you should, I think its a waste of a land raider, given how many multiple models you could alternatively hide in there. Forté
Very expensive point sink. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277433-can-a-lone-wolf-start-game-in-a-landraider/#findComment-3403598 Share on other sites
SW1
I'm guessing he could get into the LR but he couldn't be joined by anyone else. The LR can only be mounted by a single unit and the Lone Wolf can't join a unit. Ghostwolfalpha
You can as long as the land raider isn't a dedicated transport, but he must be in it alone. I wouldn't say a Lone Wolf is as killy as a Lord, but for the points, you can sure make up for it. Forté
I've always seen the LW as a distraction unit. The enemy can see it coming. Know the reputation. Know it needs dealing with. Or shoot the Grey Hunters. But that Lone Wolf is making a beeline for my line. Which to shoot? Put him in a LR and that makes the decision a lot easier. Grimtooth
The Lone Wolf can never start the gane in a Land Raider. He has no dedicated transport options of his own and cannot be joined or join any unit that can take a LR as a transport. He would have to start the game outside the LR and embark. Incorrect, he can start in any Land Raider purchased using a Heavy Support slot. skeletoro
87% off-topic, but I hear a rumour that there's a new LR variant coming out soon alongside C:SM. I wonder if we'll see a new Land Raider kit (with the new variant as one weapon loadout)? I'm quite tempted to put together a Wolves of the Redmaw Apoc formation (IA11) but am curbing my enthusiasm at least long enough to see if the current kit gets updated! (I don't have to worry about the price bump with new kits quite so much, as here in NZ they were already bumped and haven't increased much with the past few codices like they did in the rest of the world).
