Tessio Niri
Hi all Ever since the Reaver Titan was released I have always wanted one but found reasons not to take the plunge. Last month however I finally bit the bullet and put in an order to forge world and 3 days later was the proud owner of a rather large box of titan parts. Now that cleaning and assembly has been pretty much completed in wanted to share my progress with everyone on B&C. So without any further ado here's my progress so far. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0344_zps27db6f2f.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0346_zpsdfb24ec4.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0345_zps06fb7267.jpg Just to let you know not all the parts are glues/fixed yet so I can get to all the fiddly bit when painting. Tessio Niri
Thanks deathspectersgt7, it was a bit of a learning curve. The largest model I've made to date if you don't count my inquisitor scale tanks. Going to try and hit the ground running with the paint scheme with this one. I had a delivery of paint waiting for me when I got back from work so started straight away on the greaves and knee pads. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/cd4939ec-122d-40b4-b671-f4f4d132e3c7_zps036a482c.jpg I'm trying a new weathering technique using dried salt to form patches which I will paint over. once painted the salt will be taken off and hopefully will give the paint a chipped look. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0351_zpsc01e0be0.jpg 1st coat of yellow. then masking up for the black again. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0350_zps43b770f9.jpg Will post after pictures. Hopefully it will work. Regards T. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277494-project-reaver-titan/#findComment-3404917 Share on other sites

Tessio Niri
Its well worth it SickSix Progress so far. Base coat 75% complete. Had a set back with the shin/knee guards and need to strip them and repaint. Sure I'll get the eventually. Next up inking then highlights and hazard strips. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0354_zps0eb67da9.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277494-project-reaver-titan/#findComment-3408224 Share on other sites

Looking good so far and nice colours, legio metalica or something else? P.S. I love dynamic pose you've got there Keep at it! Tessio Niri
A little update on painting the carapace. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0356_zpsc1250879.jpg Not really happy with the stripes as had allot of bleed through on the masking tape and also even though the model was cleaned to remove mould release agent some of the paint has chipped off. Think this might have to be a strip and repaint job. Anyone had the same problem and could give suggestions on both issues. Cheers T. Brother-Chaplain Kage
Trying to mask over the surface of that body piece with all of those raised decorations is going to be a nightmare. The only thing I could think of would be to tear the masking tape into little bits and burnish the hell out of them to make them conform to the all the raised areas, and do the best you can to keep the edge straight. If you're going to strip it down down and start over, what I'd suggest to keep the paint from coming up with the masking tape is to lay down the yellow and then spray some sort of sealer over it. Many modelers use slightly thinned down Future Floor Wax to seal the paint coat in a protective layer before starting on weathering, but I've used it in situation similar to yours - strangely enough, it was also painting stripes like this. Kierdale
Like SickSix family issues prevent me ever getting a miniature larger than my own offspring :D But I do love watching other people make Titans. Tessio Niri
Finally got around to do a bit more painting. For those of you who where asking I'm painting this boy up as a legio ignatium reaver (Fire Wasps). http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0375_zpsa06e5f47.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0374_zpscd35c1e0.jpg Let me know what you think. Tessio Niri
Hi all Apologies for resurecting a dead thread but I finally have some progress to show you all and it feels like ive been away for such a very long time. Apart from painting the cockpit and crew I feel i'm pretty much there though will have to decide on the text for the banners and whether i'm going to do any more weathering. Weapons loadout 1 http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0399_zps451edea3.jpg Weapons loadout 2 http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0402_zps0d1bf6be.jpg Close up body http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0400_zps6a87cec7.jpg Close up leg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0401_zps2bfba252.jpg Inside detail http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0403_zps9e799a1f.jpg Both inside panels are painted the same. For those of you who asked what masking tape I use to avoid bleeding, I use a vinyl masking tape which is good because you can stretch it over any detail. Thanks for watching Regards T. Son of Carnelian
It looks great! What made you choose the Fire Wasps? It's not an often-seen color scheme. Tessio Niri
I did originally think about painting it up as Warp Runners but being a Ultramarines collector I wan't to try a differant colour besides blue and don't really get a chance to paint large areas of red and yellow. I do have another reaver I acquired that I will be painting as Warp Runners and selling on. Cockpit and crew finished. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0405_zps880e4d5f.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0406_zps1ab7f241.jpg Regards T. Lysere
Waiting for the day my wallet will actually let me buy a reaver titan. Man this thing just looks awesome and I would love to see something like that standing on the table. Hopefully standing next to my army and not across from it. Tessio Niri
Wouldn't mind getting a game in with this boy at some point and see what damage he can cause. Project Reaver Titan is far from over. Getting ready to start the next one. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/IMG_0407_zpsd8a9cacc.jpg Unfortunately since I picked this one up pretty cheap on ebay he was mostly already assembled with two part apoxy so he's not coming apart any time soon and I'm not a huge fan of the pose. We'll see what the end result will be . T. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277494-project-reaver-titan/#findComment-3516227 Share on other sites

Tessio Niri
Well apologies for being away for so long but work commitments have meant I haven't been able to spend as much time as I wanted on the 2nd titan. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/photo1_zps5e68fac1.jpg Work is pretty much finished on the outside just need to paint the interior details and then its done. Heres a picture of both side by side. Let me know which you prefer. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk146/Maverick19985/photo2_zps67fb8469.jpg Regards T. helterskelter
Both are epic. Any gathering of Titans is epic! As you ask to choose, I like the red one just a smidge more, might be the extra stripes.
