bjoluemblem
All right, so I got a squad of finecast failcast Honour Guard. One of the HG had his head fused to the finecast sprue, as in a 5 millimeter-square column of resin that started at the sprue, and attached to his head. Completely ruined the top of the head, and he looks pants-on-head retarded. The problem is that the crest of the helmet is gone, I had to scrape it away to get rid of the resin column, so he looks like, well, a guy who is wearing a bird helmet. The trim on the faceplate looks like wings now, and I don't know how to fix it. Looks vaguely medieval instead of Roman. The top of the helm is as rounded as I could make it, but he looks stupid when standing with the rest of his squad. I can post a pic of him for reference if needed, but I would like some general advice on how to make him look reasonably "normal." I was considering making him look like he had taken a bolt to the head, so burn marks/impact damage maybe, but wasn't sure where to start. Any help would be great! Grotsmasha
Take some pics and email GW requesting replacements. As far as Failcast is concerned they're quite good at replacing that sort of damage and 9/10 times you keep the damaged parts as well. Fibonacci
Most of the time all they wnt is the lot number on the package. Give them a call or send an email. GW may have problems but their customer service is top notch. War Angel
Also, once you've got you're new set, here's a quick way to fix the model if I'm understanding correct. You need to put that op "crest" back on, all you need to do is slap a little green stuff on it. I've got pics from when I did it that I can share with you if needed Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277570-convertingpainting-damaged-honor-guard-finecast/#findComment-3405441 Share on other sites
Creeger
I'd just cut his head off and put another one on. I've done that several times with my hero characters like Lysander. That way my "counts as" Lysander doesn't look exactly like Lysander. On that particular model, I used the head off the sergeant in the devastator box, you know the one with the butch flat top. Chaeron
GW told me to take mine into store and they'd simply replace it - just haven't got round to it yet! This was with a Plague Marine missing half of his body...
