You have still covered only (12+2D6)" using a jumping dreadknight etc.

Even inverting my example makes no difference to the proceedings as you still have to start inside your deployment zone.

 

To me this method makes sense, as described in Gent's follow up topic elsewhere in this forum.

How come so many think that a final pivot is not part of the move? At the end of your move, you're allowed to have moved 6" or 12"; since the pivot IS part of the move, you shouldn't have moved more than that distance once the pivot is factored in...

 

If you look at the diagram on Page 10 of the BRB, you measure from the forward edge to the forward edge, not center to center.
