Zarmon
It says (pg. 54 Canis Wolfborn bio): "...After several abortive attempts to communicate, Harald met Canis' eyes and growled a challenge. The resultant duel was far more closely fought than Harald expected it to be..." - so actually YES he did indeed almost beat a Wolf Lord and not just 'a' Lord but a named Lord of the Fang... Ah yes... only re-read the first part. I still think it comes down to how you look at it. "Normal" humans could take a Wolf Lord, why not one that has "ran with the wolves". It would have been more of a brawl then a duel, I doubt weapons were used Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277717-killing-the-feral-knight/page/2/#findComment-3410955 Share on other sites
Brother Ambroz
I don't have my C:SW on me does it say how old he was when he fought the wolf lord? Be even more ridiculous if he was a kid when that happened. Brother Ambroz
That's what I thought. It's hard to believe even a guardsman would be able to beat a wolf lord, or any space marine lord for that matter, but the rules allow it so there's a small chance it's possible. But, a child....? That's pretty extreme. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277717-killing-the-feral-knight/page/2/#findComment-3410984 Share on other sites
Zarmon
It is documented that Space Wolves have used their Gene-seed on people much older then they should. Most don't survive but a fair few did. stinkenheim
I remember something about Russ' lieutenants from the time he was found being given implants even though they were too old because both they and Russ would rather try and fail than break up their pack. The bulk of them didn't survive the process but a few did. As far as recent attempts, well I've not heard of anything like it. hendrik
russ his household warriors indeed tried to turn into space marines but many perished in the attempt. Anyway, even considering the fact that canis might have been older it's pretty ridiculous if you consider that fluffwise 1 space marine is worth a 100 normal men.... Even if it was a brawl/fight for sports from the wolf lords side he should have been able to master canis any given second. that's the thing about space marines in general, a normal human doesn't stand a chance against them in combat....
