Returning to 40K, looking for ideas for 2K point 2-LRC list

I'm coming at this after a loooooooong layoff from 40k.

I have:

30 Tactical Marines (all from DV)
10 Terminators (also DV)
Company Master (DV)
Librarian (DV)

I purchased 2 Land Raid Crusader/Redeemers yesterday to "get serious" (will magnetize for all options). I am targeting 2000 points for the army.

I like the idea of doing a LRC/BoD based army with maybe Ravenwing support.

 

Not sure where to go from here, and I've looked at so many lists and build ideas that I have confused myself! I like the idea of having a bike-riding PFG escorting the LR's, I like the idea of everything scoring (Azrael). DWA the termies and embark the tacticals? Other way around? For long range support - Typhoons, Predators, Whirlwinds, or ?

I think the stuff I have accumulated is a little incoherent.  Any ideas/comments appreciated.

As for your long range support, the one thing you want to take into account is that you have 2 land raiders already taking up 2 heavy support spots, unless you make them transports for your Deathwing.  This only leaves one heavy support spot left, and a single whirlwinds don't seem that effective, at least in my experience.  I prefer Predators as mine usually serve me well.  Typhoons are nice as they will always have a 5+ cover save as long as you move them.  Their downfall is that anything over av12 can become a challenge for them to kill.

If you take Azrael or Belial the Terminators will count as troops which will give you three elites choices. Have you considered using Dreadnoughts as your long range fire support? LRC's have short range weapons and I think the long range weapons on Dreads are a good compliment to that.

Whirlwinds have become almost auto include. 65 points for cover negating goodness especially with the current meta shift to tau and eldar

Hadn't considered Dreadnoughts ... that would be very cool. Cool is my first priority

I had the same thought in the back of my head, it seems that Tau/Eldar are going to have bitchin' troops hiding in cover every time you see them.

So:

Add Azrael, or convert the DV Company Master to counts as

Add Whirlwind(s)

Add Dreadnought(s)
