Skaven from Isle of Blood-"Counts as" 40k models?

Recommended Posts

I have the skaven from Isle of Blood, sitting around doing nothing, still on the sprue and everything. I'm trying to decide what to do with them, and I was considering using them as cultists or daemons or something. They're not much smaller than a cultist, and they fit the "dissatisfied Imperium mutant" theme that falls to Chaos. Any thoughts on who or what they might be?

With a headswap here and there they really would make great mutants/cultists. And thanks to the amount of aftermarket products you just have to decide what you like best.

Similarly you could maybe use them as conscripts or penal troops for Imperial Guard. (Was thinking about something like this or zombie heads of some sort with some GS for the neck )

Apart from that, the only thing else I can think of would be to use them as alternative models in a Tau army. Kroot counts-as or alternative pathfinders maybe.

Either way shields are always awkward on 40k models. They are molded on, so you might have find a way to repurpose them as magazines for whatever weapon they are going to use (that is if you use them as anything else than melee cultists).

I think the rat-ogres are perfect Chaos Spawns if you know how to model them with green stuff and bits smile.png

I am wondering about their Ogryn conversion potential.

And regarding skaven, they seem like really downtrodden chaos / imperial fanatics with their clothes. Just need some work, I think.

I have Skaven-based (although after all those years it's mostly long gone from the concept) Chaos renegades. I have used Clanrats (the old ones) as summoned lesser demons in previous codex. Now I think one can still use the new skaven as cultists. They look pretty cool. You could also use the ogres as spawn (or even a helbrute?).

What about Abomination used as count as maulerfiend?
