Alright guys and gals J

So I have taken a small hiatus from my Tyranids and I decided to do a 2500pt army of white scars, a very fast mobile force J

I will be modelling every base myself, I may commit them to resin not sure yet but the idea behind them is a Chaos waste kind of thing, Skulls skulls and more skulls, dark marble columns and Lava,

Keeping the bases dark with the added lava should make the white really pop on the vehicles and marines.

So first things first, Librarian on bike, he will be equipped with a Storm shield for the 3++ invun J (still to get the shield)

I have used the Dark Vengeance librarian and some Ravenwing biker legs to keep him robed.

Next up is the first of 9 Landspeeder bases J same idea here, broken columns and SKULLS and lava.

I have lots planned for the rest of the bases and am really looking forward to trying a few new techniques (new to me) with my airbrush, I have go some 1mm and 2mm automotive masking tape to do the Dags and the red stripes on the legs, bikes etc.

Let me know what you think so far J

Cheers,

Iain.

Ola boys and Girls,

So a little update for the White Scars, I managed to get the trial base for the landspeeder finished last night,

The marble colomns still need a little work perhaps some bubbles in the lava but what do you thing?

I also attempted a trial paint scheme for the helmet, undercoated it white, then did a solid red colour around the middle of the helmet, Masked it off then back over with white again.

Added some grey shadowing and some chips with Charodon Granite, then some rust spots, then the lens and the black bits.

Pictures a quite bad but you get the gist of it.

This is great work! for the marble columns i found that a company called marabu makes marble effect acrylic paint haven't tried it my self but i reckon its worth at least mentioning.

love the skulls theme

I'll make sure to watch this :D

The librarian on bike conversion really works and the robes flow together well. How difficult was the cutting, etc to get it to line up and fit so well?

Not actually that bad tbh, there is a little bit of GS work to under take but it is primarily filling,

Thanks,

Iain.

Huh.  Truth be told, I was really hating the bases in the first pic.  They seemed way too overzealous and liberal with the skulls.  Seeing it all painted, I am happy to say I was wrong :)  The dull jade-black color does a lot to homogenize them.  And the glossy lava you've managed is just sweet.  Is that gloss varnish, or did you have to use some of that liquid fx stuff?  I assume the coloring is airbrushed?

Cheers Firepower, yeah i did think about the amount of skulls, but i want them to be fighting on a demonic world and i want the armour to really pop, it is indeed just gloss varnish over airbrushed colours.
