So as the title said I'm starting out a blood angel army
after playing Dark Angels for 3-5 years. I've got roughly 13k points total and
I wanted a different theme. So here is a model I converted from a robed DA
model for my librarian to use with the list. My goal is to have 60 DC marines
(with all the backpacks, jump packs, and weapons with magnets so I can change
them) 3 DC dreads, 3 drop pods, and 3 rhinos. Characters will be 1 Chaplin, 1
Librarian, Astorath, Lamarties, and Capt Tyacho. I know that some of them aren’t
that awesome but I’ve already made a display board and wanted it to have
everything DC. biggrin.png

I’ll post stuff as I finish it if you all don’t mind

dropping me some feedback.

So here is my librarian.

The main person I go up vs is an elder player and he loves

to spam Wrath knights so I though using this guy here with “the sanguine sword”
with lamarties in the group so I’ll get 4 attacks, needing 3s to hit (and
reroll) and 2s to wound. Then went I wound, burn a force charge and insta kill
him. Any thoughts?

Yea its all green stuff. I had a few sculpting tools as well as a set of dental cleaning tools (don't ask) that helped get into the small detail. What color robes do you think would look good? He is in blue armour because don't all librarians normally weapon UM armour?

The sculpting on that is really great. Yes, Libbys are in blue armour. For the robes I'm partial to bone as I just think it works well with everything else. Here's an older pic of my Libby.

  • 4 weeks later...

With my blood angels librarians I do the  blue armor but keep their helmets and shoulder pads red with blood angel markings whilst doing the robes in a bone or light grey color so that they look a bit more neutral and not so garish.

The death company theme is awesome though and one I have often considered doing.

I repainted the robe and started on astarath this weekend, I will post pics soon. I am going over kill on this vow thing coming up by putting 250 magnets in the death company and still lack another 240 to complete it. (For bolters and normal packs not counting special weapons)

Oh, there's always a chance.

In my army, golden armour = artificer armour. Regardless, I will never understand why they chose to put the Blood Angel's High Chaplain in armour that is neither the colour of Chaplains nor the Blood Angels. Unless it really was to make him look like Gary Oldman.

Anyway, I shall take a close-up when the sun rises and post it in my own WIP thread to avoid polluting poor pyro's thread any further,

so any thoughts? I still got another 60 DC troops, 3 pods, 3 rhinos/razorbacks, and 2 dreadnaughts to paint so feedback helps keep me painting lol.
