matt01price
Hello folks, I've been painting wolves since the current codex came out and have just finished painting and photographing all of my current collection. I've also recently started playing (i'm one of those nutters who doesn't like playing with unpainted models, happily play against them but not with them... ).I'm immensely proud of them and thought you might fancy a look.Hope you like them!http://spacewolfgallery.blogspot.co.uk/Mattp.s. the most recent post has group shots but if you delve back far enough you can find multiple shots of each and every model :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278025-space-wolf-gallery-fully-painted-army/ Share on other sites
Wulfebane
Really pleased and inspired by these. I like a lot of the poses; dynamic poses are something a lot of players find difficult, but you pulled it off really well. I also enjoyed all of the small things, like runes in the pack markings, and all of the morkai iconography... those were decals, right? My only critique would be in the lack of shadow/highlighting on the armor, but all the rest of the intricate detailing more than make up for it. Bulweih
What brother Wulfebane said I second in all respects. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278025-space-wolf-gallery-fully-painted-army/#findComment-3412037 Share on other sites

matt01price
Thanks folks!!I tried highlighting when I originally started painting the chaps years back but wasn't all that good at it so stopped, favoring what I hoped to be a bold clean finish :) I've got a fully magnetised pack of blood/sky claws on the painting table now but might look into doing proper highlighting further down the line. Thanks again! Wulfebane
Just to throw it out there, but your grey is already decently bright, I would maybe consider adding shadows rather than highlights. I'm doing the exact same to my Blood/Skyclaws. matt01price
I did try to put shadows in there. The scheme is simply paint all of the colours (codex grey/dawnstone for the grey), add respective washes, then paint it all again but leave the washes in the shadow areas. They're far from bold though... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278025-space-wolf-gallery-fully-painted-army/#findComment-3412369 Share on other sites
