Angelofdeath8950
Hey everyone I have a question as I am new to dw but when you take a dw command squad is it smarter to take an apothecary with a lightening claw (if you can do that) or take the banner that gives you feel no pain? I'm hoping to see everyone's opinion on it and I'm sorry if this has been discussed already Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278048-dw-command-squad-question/ Share on other sites
Pbenner
In the new book, the apothecary can only have the narthecium and a storm bolter. In my experience, the Banner of Fortitude makes its points back every game. Champion is great for taking on 2+ armor challenges as it is AP2 at initiative. In smaller games, the fact that it isnt scoring can really hurt. Brother dean
I think I would rather use the banner than the Apoth or both if I was going to run them but Pbenner has a point that the squad eats points like nobody's business at lower points levels... I think I would rather have more troops termies and or DWKnights. Brother-Sergeant Bohemond
The Command Squad is only worth taking when you play bigger point games, and, like others have said, you cannot run the Apoth with anything but the SB and Narthecium. I would suggest running the Banner over the Apothecary for being able to take better weapons in the squad.
