Boomkapow
Bellow is a picture of a land raider a buddy gave to me. I have removed the broken pieces and filed down most of the imperfections. I have ordered the LR Redeemer upgrade kit that comes with the parts for a redeemer or the flamer LR. Question is, which should I build. I doubt that I will ever need more that 12 models in it (6 termies) so I am looking at it strictly from a damage output standpoint. Thanks! PS: I will be posting any progress I make in this thread. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z384/boomkapow1/lr.jpg
skawolf
If you are using the typical TH/SS assault termies in it I would suggest the redeemer. Flamestorm cannons are just way awesome and if you are getting the raider in that close to charge from it then the cannons are getting some use. Boomkapow
I will probably be using it as a transport for Bolter DC and my Prescience libby. I was thinking if I got close enough I could Shoot and assault a unit with my DC and torch a separate unit with the flamestorm cannons. I figure now that if I'm close enough to rapid fire with the hurricane bolters, I'm close enough to use the FS cannons. I think there is a 4" difference. Is the Redeemer a candidate for the deep strike? People generally say no but I feel the mayhem it can cause up close would maybe be able to utilize it. skawolf
I have only used deep strike on a raider once. Actually it was 4 in a huge game. Used locator beacons on drop pods and a stormraven to bring them in though so they didn't do bad.
Midnightmare
Magnetize!! Best of both (or all?) worlds! If you deep strike a Redeemer, I take it you can only fire a Flamestorm due to power of the machine spirit (as you count as cruising speed and templates can't snap fire, but POTMS allows one weapon to fire at full BS?) Boomkapow
Correct. I figure one will be enough if I'm, say, playing against tau or orks.
Boomkapow
Update: URL=http://s1187.photobucket.com/user/boomkapow1/media/image-1.jpg.html]http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z384/boomkapow1/image-1.jpg[/url] Here it is. All ready to be primed. Put in simple green for 3 days and it hadn't been stripping the primer very well. Also, here is my Sanguinary Priest on bike. He's going near my 2 squads of attack bikes. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z384/boomkapow1/image-2.jpg Ps: has anybody tried priming white over black? Memento Of Prospero
Don't do it. Very uneven white will be the result most of the time. strip it down with simple clean. easy to do.
Boomkapow
Simple clean? Never heard of it? I hope its more powerful than simple green because like I said, 3 days in SG and nothing. Stripped paint easily enough but primer wasn't going anywhere. And thanks for the tip on white over black. I usually prime white but I basecoat red with an airbrush and generally the difference in color in minimal based on primer.
Memento Of Prospero
It is VERY powerful, more so than simple Green Cheap too, you can buy it at walmart. *** It's SUPER CLEAN, not simple clean*** I am getting old. Let it rest for 24 hours and scrub away. if you have several more layers of paint, left after scrubbing, another 24 hours and scrub again. it's great stuff. Make sure to handle with rubber gloves the stuff is corrosive and burns skin if you are not careful.
