Just checked out the nature vs nurture thread that I was going to post an evaluation on the effects of outside possibilities from the environment and potential upbringings verses the instilled traits from the emperors genetic coding.

Then I saw that heathens left due to once again people not contributing or helping out but rather criticising and blowing things up due to biased opinions.

I realised that everyone that comments in my thread have actually been very kind and supportive and offered there insights and advice which I have taken and/or modified whilst still trying to keep my internal vision true.

It disappoints me to see that someone as talented as heathens who wrote the beautiful gore wolf fluff for me is being made to feel that his works aren't appreciated. And I want to formally acknowledge that his fluff help and projects have inspired me.

For too long I felt the grim darkness leaving back when codex blood angels was released 2-3 years ago. It was in him I found a common opinion and found someone that sees the 30k-40k Universe the same way I do.

His marines malevolent provided me the inspiration to try use bare heads and stay away from helmets. His iron warriors have inspired a big WIP plan for a trench board.

I'm officially thanking you heathens for providing legitimate arguments quotes and entertaining posts that have helped keep my personal project alive.

Thank you,

Taron

I agree it was heathens and noctis who kept me from throwing in the towel early in the year. I've been reading through his thread to build a renegade submission I received. If I can get it close to the feel of his ill be happy.

Threads like that are just a ticking timer to being closed by a mod because of people screaming at each other over the internet. You might notice I never posted a single time to it, or many other threads of a similar stripe.

Far too many people in this hobby feel they know what's right more than anyone else, when the entire history of the setting is so fluid that it's been rewritten over and over again. Canon barely has any meaning because the next WD article or HH novel might contradict something that's been ironclad for 15 years or more. (Quiet, Templars!)

When citing facts turns to speculation and interpretation, it's time to drop that thread like a hot plasma gun.

@hellchyld- I agree with you there, alot of the projects here make me want to truly strive to reach the same level of skill

@kage- that's why I withdrew my input it went in a completely different direction then I originally thought it would

Still it saddens me to see that there are those on here that are so freaking hardcore with their opinions that they forget to see the fun that this forum inspires.

I know I can be stubborn but I do sway to an intelligent argument, and to see that thread go down that path sickened me.

I hope my stuff is the :cuss as if it isn't I may have to try make it better. I just need to get more bulk groups of troops then I can start on some bigger better pieces such as storm eagles typhons fellblades and Spartans.

Hey Jasp, do not worry, your work is right on target. they are by far MY favorite World Eaters on the web to date. and yeah, The "nature Vs. Nurture" thread, while awesome in premise, I saw it it going down that road early. so I did not contribute.

a couple of personal announcements.

1. I returned to 40K because my son wanted me to play! I have started some Black Templars.

2. I have Started doing Commissions again. I hope it's ok, that I post them in our WIP thread. I only ask as I'd love to do work for OUR little Group of Madmen!

3. My first Commission is actually for Mikhail's Dark Angels! It'll be Awesome!

4. Today, I have started on my Salamanders in earnest, that is all.

again, great work on your WE's. And Believe me(or don't) when I say that your work Actually inspires me.

I'm certainly fine with this.  Maybe a little group WIP thread for 40K or non 30K stuff and the rest here?  Jaspcat started this topic so I would defer to him on the actual content allowed.  I'm also racing to get passable pics of my DA posted before you get your Salamanders up.

Well I think that for the non 30k stuff as much as I'd love to throw it into the thread I feel it should stay purely heresy. But I definitely love the ideas.

I'd love to do once this is over a kill team sort of comp where you paint up a narrative with like one tac squad one FA one HS one HQ one Elite to have as an adhoc specialist group.

But I'm still iffy on going back to 40k

Update on my rapier;

I just need to pick out some more detail on the cannon then wash it with my aged bronze mixture and do the backpack on the marine.

So this weekend ill have all 10vets done except for the nuncio vox backpack and my first rapier.

I should be able to next week finish half of my seekers and half of the other vet squad.

Progress is going steady

Yeah I wanted this one to be the lead rapier so I thought some etched brass would be appropriate.

I'm actually toying with the idea of chaining the drivers to the controls :D

But eventually I want to have more Shields more heavy weapons and more big guns.

Nothing more terrifying then a WE with a heavy flamer I reckon.

Especially in designated zone mortallis

Not sure what to say, ladies and gentlemen. I'm humbled. I never thought very highly of my work, but it's nice to know that I can help inspire others. Just keep on doing what y'all do, that's thanks enough for me. smile.png

What kinda commission did you take on?

the first one is a Space Wolf "Lone Wolf"  he wants a defiant pose, custom built frost axe, storm shield and LOT'S of, how'd he say it, wolf-bling! to include some pelts.

and Heathens, as the only person in this thread to,have actually "handled" and seen your work in real life. I can personally say, you should be VERY proud of what you do. your claws are what got me painting metal the way I do now.
