malorn24
What is the point of using a power axe if you still get I1 but only get +2 ST and AP2 when a Powerfist gives the same stats except better ST? I must be reading too much into things. If lightning claws are specialist weapons and don't get the +1 for attack for two close combat doesn't take away from A Terms and Shrike? Like I said just coming back to the game and trying to wrap my head around 6th. Bryan Blaire
The power axe allows you to get an extra Attack by simply having a bolt pistol paired with it, which a power fist does not. Specialist weapons don't get the +1A in close combat unless they are paired with another specialist weapon. Assault Terminators and Shrike have paired Lightning Claws, which are both Specialist Weapons, therefore, they get the +1A. Hope that helps. DarkGuard
The power axe is also cheaper than the power fist, if points are a factor. Zombie P
and you can still buy melta bombs and be cheaper, so you can deal with vehicles better than a power fist for under the points cost. Also, power axes are +1S, not +2.
