Soraf
Hi Guys, I've been looking around for a while now, but i just can't seem to find any bits places or tutorials for metal spikes (think chaos vehicle kit type spikes). I was just wondering if anyone on here has any knowledge of where i can get access to some spikes, or has any advice on things that can be turned into spikes. Best regards Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278105-spikes/ Share on other sites
Kierdale
The points of cocktail sticks? I use a lot of Fantasy Battle minis for conversions so I usually end up with some spears, arrows and the like which I won't use as they are. Perfect spikes right there. Beachymike123
iirc the 3.5 dex said cocktail sticks are a good way to go with modelling spikes emerging, just cut them to required length and glue them down. other than that the only way i can think to get spikes is to go to bits sites, although gw itself does do the chaos vehicle accessories. http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armySubUnitCats.jsp?catId=cat440335a&rootCatGameStyle=wh40k edit:ninja'd by kierdale Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278105-spikes/#findComment-3412986 Share on other sites
Soraf
Yeah, I've considered using cocktail sticks. Maybe just tackle the precision issues by casting the a well done one or something. I was hoping that some bits vendors would have 3rd party spikes that i can use but i havent found any, i must be looking in the wrong place Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278105-spikes/#findComment-3413005 Share on other sites
Kais Klip
You could also get a very nice sharpened-rebar effect by taking your sprue and sharpening it to whatever thickness you prefer. Just cut away from your body. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278105-spikes/#findComment-3413094 Share on other sites
