Horus Heresy Tactica: Legion Tactical Squad

Recommended Posts

It's been awhile since I've done one of these, but now I'm back to churing these things out weekly. You can read the detail post at Pensacola Warhammer.

As the title suggests, I go over the Legion Tactical Squad. Personally, I don't particularly like to bedazzle my tactical squads with a lot of wargear. The builds that I think would be the most effective is basically a tactical squad with a sergeant with artificer armor and a chainsword and a Nuncio-vox, or a tactical squad with a sergeant in artificer armor, everyone armed with close combat weapons, a Nuncio-vox, and a Legion Vexilla (the Nuncio-vox being optional with this build). A 10 or 20 man squad is basically personal preference and points. A 20 man squad is certainly very nice, but a 10 man squad is cheaper and can get a transport.

Let me know what you think. I eager to hear the discussion.

I .ike your review, though you made one mistake. The latest FAQ allows sergeants to sea bolter or bolt pistol (not that it helps my already built sergeant with bolt pistol, chainsword and power sword).

Personally I would go for a mid size squad of about 15, with vexilla. Dont do deep striking ad have no barrage weapons (yet) so no vox. Sergeant with artificer armour and power sword. Any squad that advances has additional close combat weapons.

Thanks. I didn't know the Horus Heresy had an FAQ. Guess I'll have to go check that out. I agree that the tactical squad should be a mild of the road unit, which is why I would probably only give the unit close combat weapons. The vox or vexnilla I would agree that they are both dependent on how you use your army and what legion you army is.
