LordOrdGermany
Hi Comrades, finally it is possible to post the Imperial Guard too here in this wonderful community. I am very glad to present you now my project existing for 12 years. I hope to receive a lot of C+C here. At first the Background: The INDUSTRIAL FORMATION" Imperial Guard Deep in the Segmentum Solar lies the Thay sub-sector encompassingtwo inhabited planets: Thay Mahyrand Thay Malarn.Since the Dark AgesOf Technology the sub-sector is inhabited by civilized, diciplined trustworthyservants of the Imperium. For 300 years these people were successfully ruled bythe House Ord where also theImperial Governors come from. The two planets can be compared with Holy Terraand its neighbor planet Mars. But instead of being cold and lifeless as Mars,Thay Mahyr was terraformed duringthe Dark Ages of Technology and is now the place where the barracks, trainingfacilities and war factories are. According to that, Thay Mahyr is where thecivilians of Thay life and also the place of the Imparial Palace. Huge citiesare connected with each other all over the planet´s surface but were notallowed to turn into to Hive Worlds by careful policy. The Thay sector isblessed with uncountable amounts of minerals, iron and gas. No matter if youregard the gas-colonies within the asteroid belts of the two gas giants ThayUlarn and Thay Namaan, the uran mines of Thay Mahyr or the Dado-meat-factoriesof Thay Malarn, the wealth and gentle security of the average citizens isderived from the huge export turn-over to the Imperium. The official name for the regiments coming from Thay is Industrial Formation. After House Ordhad come to power they started changing the army´s structure, to re-equip itand to focus on other issues. House Ord put much value on the fact that theefficiency of the Imperial Army is not only quantity but also quality.According to that and the fact that the major amount of the state´s money goesinto the war budget even a single infantryman is equipped with expensive, useful tolls, amour and weapons. Every helmetis provided with a small energy device anda visor, allowing the soldier abetter view over the battlefield. The "standard lasgun" is provided with a device, which allows the laser ray to be more focused and according to that more efficient. Finally the wide shoulder pads arethe place for the company labels and the IFicon, proudly carried into battle. Last but not least: the fact that male and female persons serving theIndustrial Formation all over the galaxy increases the moral of the whole army.Remarkable (and observed by the Inquisition) is the fact thathalf-human-species like ogryns, halflings and squats offered adoption to families and a place on Thay Mahyrand Thay Malarn. The tolerance leads to a better understanding between thedifferent types of human beings and an increasing of battle power and efficiencyby taking advantage of the specific skills of these half-human species withinthe already highly-efficient and highly-motivated army.Furthermore the soldiers within the IndustrialFormation are ordered to act on behalf of mankind and it is not allowed toharm, injure or thread true servants of the Imperium during a campaign but onthe contrary to integrate armed civilian forces for them to defend theirplanets. A true eye catcher is the moonorbiting Thay Mahyr, where all identification-labelsof fallen soldiers were sent back throughout the whole galaxy. The family´stradition is it to lay down those IDs on the moon and within the millenia it isnow covered with them and in the bright sunlight of the sun Thay the surface of the moon is glittering beautifully likediamond. LordOrdGermany
Tank you so much for your great answers so far!!:-) Ok so here are the basics: http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/100_0449.jpg I love the old metal Cadians, their helmets in particular. When I started WH 40 K in 2001 I soon had all infantrymen gathered and wanted more varierty and something unique. One precious day I was cycling to a lake when I suddenly had the idea. I turned my bike in an instant and went back home. I had very thin copper sheets and with them I created my visor first. It looked so nice to me that I decided to go further and I created the shoulder pads. Afterwards I had the idea to make the lasrifle more massive by using a sawn straw for the muzzle device . Since this important day I went on and on and on. Later I was very happy to have the new plastic Cadian bodies. I take away the metal heads of the old Cadians and put them on the plastic bodies of the new ones. Right now my army encompasses over 100 infantrymen, 60 heavy weapon specialists.......and tanks of course but now first some pictures of the things I told you http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/IF5.jpghttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/IF6.jpg I love my other 2 projects too (Aurora Chapter and Deathwatch, see also here in "works in progress") but this is my created work which I love IG since 2001 http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/P1000332$281$29.JPGhttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/P1000018.JPGhttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/P1000333$281$29.JPG All my heroes have to wear blue trousers. I don´t know why but that is my wish since childhood and my childhood heroes (Powerman/Luke Cage, Lucky Luke...). The exception is the Aurora Chapter and the DW http://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/IF3.jpghttp://www.lordordsrealm.de/mediac/400_0/media/ProfilIF2.jpg Of course I integrate cool models from other companies, too, when they are as big as the GW miniatures. ....to be continued Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278428-my-industrial-formation-imperial-guard-ogryns/#findComment-3423860 Share on other sites

Kierdale
Subbed here too. I love those visors. Interesting that you used copper sheet. Plasticard would have been my first guess (and my first go-to). I do think some of the shoulder pads could do with being a little smaller or just having their edges rounded off. They look rather sharp on the fingers too! I saw an Ogryn in the background with something big on his shoulder...could you show us some of the big fellas?
