Denison512
Tonight at my gaming club i managed to accquire some Frateris Militia. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little more about these models is is what stats you would use to run them or do you think the warrior acolyte stats from GK could work? On a side note does anyone know if the female witch hunter has been discontinued? couldn't find her on the GW website! *Furyou Miko
I'd run them as a mix of Warriors and Banishers with basic (non-upraded) weaponry and maybe a meltagun to represent heat lances or other industrial tools. Historically, they were basically guardsmen with a single close-combat weapon and only a 6+ save. They could buy autoguns and autopistols, and something like one in ten could have a special weapon. I think you sell the history a bit short. In 2nd ed they were Skill 2 when Guard were base Skill 3. You could buy them inexpensive steeds and a banner that gave them +1 Skill on the charge and primitive armour. Essentially allowing you to take Brettonian Cav in 40k. They even had the Fluer Icon. In 3rd until arguably the WD-dex they were a Chapter Approved Article. What may them special compared to Guardsmen was that they took moral penalties as bonuses instead, which at the time was almost better than fearless. Also, you could imbed upto four stealth chainfists in a mob. They moved the Inquisitor figures over the GK section (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1140003&prodId=prod1140024a) Maybe you could find us some illustrations to comment upon at the Stuff of Legends? They have a fairly extensive catalogue. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278441-frateris-militia/#findComment-3423807 Share on other sites

It was *sigh* an appendix rule in an obscure part of that 'pamphlet'. Denison512
The inquistor i'm after is one of these inquistors I just can't find em at least on the UK GW page. I'll look at running them as GK Retinue then. I do hope Sisters get a inquisitor retinue so i can run em with 6th Ed sisters too :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278441-frateris-militia/#findComment-3424212 Share on other sites
Fibonacci
All 3 are in the Grey Knight HQ section. At least they are in the USA site. I do hope Sisters get a inquisitor retinue so i can run em with 6th Ed sisters too It all depends on who writes the next codex, and how close they want to tie the Ecchlesarchy with the Inqusition. I wouldn't mind taking an Inqusitor with retinue as an Elite choice but I never cared for men at arms heading up the church's forces. It does not gel well with the other lore to me. Denison512
They are all the male inquisitors. I'm after the female ones. might get the guy with the inferno pistol. I'm looking forward to finding out what will happen to the Sisters :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278441-frateris-militia/#findComment-3424281 Share on other sites

Brother Tyler
I'd look at the Frateris Militia as being closer to the cultists found in Codex: Chaos Space Marines in terms of abilities. The Frateris Templars, on the other hand, might be closer to the Imperial Guard. I was trying not to compare the innocent of the Imperium inspired by holy men to a bunch of devolved rabble, however. Denison512
NOES! :( well i guess i'll just have to try the bay of e :/ ah well! Or rather do you think it would be more appropriate for them to be lead by a Confessor and do "counts as Inquisitor"? Eddie Orlock
You know, you can order from foreign divisions if you're willing to pay international freight. Often, with a large enough order they'll give you free expidited and tracked shipping.
