CHS true-scale and terminators

Hello there folks, I just had a quick question. At the moment, I'm building a small(ish) Chaos force to ease me back into 6th ed. Now the thing is, I love my fluff so, I really do. I've always envisioned the Sorceror leader of my warband to stand out amongst the rest, and decided to do that by making him in true-scale, using Chapterhouse Studio's torso and legs for the purpose.

Now, normal scale Chaos Marine arms don't seem to do it justice, whereas termie arms, while actually looking to fit it quite well, suffer from the huge shoulderpads. Now, as you all know, the terminator arms for both SM's and CSM's have a 'lip' on the outside of the shoulder joint to accomodate their fitting easily onto a Terminator torso. Should I slice this off and trim down the shoulders of the termie arms to permit the use of a normal-sized shoulder pad, or stick with the termie ones since we have seen Marine shoulder pads looking huge next to the wearer's head!

(And to forestall any questions, I don't plan on making any other true-scale models. I just want the sorceror to be eye-catching, and look like the mutant freak of nature any self-respecting warpsucker is. happy.png )

I'd probably shave it down to fit a normal shoulder pad, if only because the terminator pads are so distinct that I'd think he'd look out of place with the other PA having standard sized pads. Though to b fair that might be a lot of cutting and shaving to make a normal PA shoulder pad fit, because if I remember correctly the shoulder itself is about the size of a normal marine pad to begin with.

That's a good point, cheers!

Do you have access to the CHS shoulder pads? I also have the CHS kit, and at first the PA arms looked out of place, but now, they're fine.

HERE'S my thread.

Cheers,

Jono

You, it wasn't until you posted this that I remembered having CHS shoulderpads! Damn silly of me I know, but I've filed down the shoulder and inside of the pad, and it does look quite nice.
