Do you like how the Thunder Warriors have been handled?

Okay, this is getting confusing. Can someone just please quote the after the ceremony conversation where we find out who is who for at least once in the story? It's driving me batty and I have enough batwings on my shoulder.

I'm just talking about the sheer confusion that the Alpha Legion brings to the table.

Thats how they roll, to quote Tommy Lee Jones from Men In Black II "I like my enemies to be confused." To which Will Smith replies: "Man, we all confused."

That's called a tactical psychological advantage, mi amigo. It's what they've always been known for, it's only now that we're finding out what exactly that contitutes in relation to their small and large scale tactics.

The Iron Warriors have their vast array of artillery, combined with mathmatical warfare.

The Ultramarines have their consistant application of tactical knowledge.

The World Eaters have their violence and a strond sword-arm.

The Alpha Legion have confusion and misdirection. It's their greatest strength.

@Noctis

After reading your post about that pic of the Emperor battling Horus I truly hope your theory turns out to be the case.  That idea is just freaking awesome.  Arik Tanaris and the last of the Thunder Warriors dying by their lords side after everything.  Now that is a outstanding scene to write and to read about.  Odins balls thats how that scene plays out in my head from now on whenever I see that picture Thunder Warrios not custodes..

I hope A D-B reads this and totaly steals the idea.

It does sound bloody awesome.

How do we know Noctus just isn't A D-B posing as a Texan? Or even that A D-B isn't just a pseudonym used by Dan Abnett, the original Alpharius, and that the guy we see in pictures is just a paid actor? How? How do we know?

kidding. I think.

Dude. You just made me question everthing.

Its a vision both Heathens and I share that we once spoke about during a conversation a while back. While I must admit the complete lack of ability at the moment to send any submissions or ideas to Black Library has left me in a fairly depressed state, I might be willing to just write a little something, if anyone's interested.

I'd require a little more than "More dead War Hounds than Thunder Warriors" before saying the TW were better at fighting than the Astartes. For all we know, they ambushed the Hounds after letting them wear themselves out killing the entire population of mortal prisoners.

Remember, Arik Taranis rebuked Ghota for mocking the Astartes in Outcast, calling them worthy successors who WERE NOT weaker than the Warriors, just different.

Depending on your definition, Stephen Hawking might be just as strong worthy as, say, Dolph Lundgren, taking into account brainpower.

Well this is the thing that I love about Legion. You can read it 100 times and you will find always something, that will surprise you, a hidden message that you didn't registered before. I bet you that Legion contains plenty of another messages to be revealed, that will make sense only after carefuly reading other Heresy books (or they will be never revealed)... Thats Abnetts mastery.
