Kronus Stormbringer
Red and silver armour on the riders if very nice, as others have said the double chainsword is very effective! Pyrion
Great conversions Pyrion ! I especially like your characters Thank you. I don't do an awful lot converting (the command squad and honor guard are two major exceptions), but I do like to make some characters stand out. It's amazing how easy it is to give a character... well, character. The scale cloaks, and some of the weapons are easy but really effective ways to make the models stand out. Â Â Â Red and silver armour on the riders if very nice, as others have said the double chainsword is very effective! Red and Silver are my favorite non-metallic and metallic colors respectively. So it was obvious I tested them out together, and I'm really happy how well it works. As a little side info, the regular marines have red helmets. The silver ones seen in these pictures mark veteran status. The captains and possibly the honor guard (still pondering on the latter) will go with golden helmets instead. Pyrion
And a wip of the (magnetized) banner for the Command Squad/Honor Guard.  http://imageshack.com/a/img545/3516/euqb.jpg  I will try to do a freehand to make it look like the dragon emblem in the middle of the banner is breathing fire onto the sword - not expecting too much, but it can't hurt to try, haha. Any color suggestions for the banner? I don't want to make it red because of the fire motif I want to add (too much red, would be hard to distinguish) but really am not sure what color would go well with the marines. Pyrion
And the riders are done! Just need the Captain and the banner now. Once again, please excuse the crappy photo quality. War Angel
Nice use of the emperors champion. I also like the use of giant rideable lizards, however I personaly don't like the red on green. It kinda looks like a burnin bush if I squint my eyes and stand far away while hopping on one leg. Te paint job looks great though, crappy photos aside. It does look odd that they are all saying "look ma, no hands" but I guess that's just how it goes. Â Keep up the good work! Pyrion
Man those look Great  .Now lets see the banner Actually working on the Captain right now, the banner will be the final touch to the squad, haha.   Nice use of the emperors champion. Pyrion
A first wip of the captain.  http://imageshack.com/a/img36/9822/2rbn.jpg  The gold and silver/metal parts are mostly done. Next step is to add the red layer onto the base color.  Also, once I have them finished I need to find a good camera and place with lighting that doesn't suck horribly to take a decent picture. Pyrion
And the captain is finished - just his mount (and the banner) to go until I'm done with these. Â I also figured I could slightly increase the picture quality by taking a bit more distance. Still not all that good, but at least a bit better than before. Pyrion
And now we're finished!   Since someone asked for the looks of the banner, here's the banner bearer up close with the finished banner. http://imageshack.com/a/img853/7838/41xl.jpg   And the entire squad.http://imageshack.com/a/img203/5535/wd6l.jpg   And not to forget, the captain! http://imageshack.com/a/img513/2603/1pc1.jpghttp://imageshack.com/a/img819/8947/9xtt.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/278714-introducing-the-legio-draconis-salamanders-successor/page/2/#findComment-3596508 Share on other sites

Pyrion
After quite some time, here's something new. This is my newest conversion, a vindicator modified so that the demolisher cannon comes out of a dragon's mouth. Let's see how long it's gonna stay just basecoated until I actually get to paint it! Pyrion
And after an eternity I bring you some more finished models! Â Â These are the Salamanders Legion Firedrakes from Forgeworld painted in my chapter's colors and put on special lava themed bases. A lot of time went into these guys but I am satisfied with the result. Very beautiful models too! Pyrion
Oh wow, I pretty much forgot about this place - maybe it's time to post some new-ish stuff I actually got finished recently, haha.  Here's a Librarian with an added little familiar. It's actually standing on the Base with a magnet and can be removed.  My conversion for the Forgeworld character Pellas Mir'san - he does not have his own model, just rules. It's not too much of a conversion but it portraits him well I think. Also the scale pattern on the cloak took a bit but I like the result  My chapter champion (it appears the previous images I linked are no longer available due to them being hosted off-site) - a conversion from the Emperor's Champion.  And finally, big bad Dreadnought Bray'arth Ashmantle. While the newest edition made him crazy expensive points-wise, he's also ridiculously hard to kill now and a lot of fun to field. Pyrion
Since quite some of my older uploads are no longer available, I decided to re-post some of them as well.  First of all my Captain and Command Squad (now Company Veterans with assorted characters) on "bikes", with a little twist!  Newest edition made them quite handy if still rather costy but they are fun to field. Having the Apothecary bring them back over and over again definitely is a nuisance to quite a few of my opponents. :-p    And then, something a bit newer - my Chapter Master (who provides my username here) and is currently the only model I use not painted by myself. I did however do the conversion work and sculpted and painted the base.  Parts used: Gabriel Seth (body), Emperor's Champion (Sword + right arm, with the hand repositioned to give an in-swing pose), two scale cloaks from MaxMini combined into a large one, a Legion Firedrake Storm Shield, a Space Wolf head, Vulkan He'stan's backpack and a Forge World Salamanders shoulderpad. I used to run him with the Burning Blade (who would've thought?) but since it became pretty useless this edition (inferior to a relic blade in my opinion, which I can not take instead since it's exclusive with a Storm Shield) I run him with the Teeth of Terra instead. Bjorn Firewalker
The Dark Elves Cold Ones mounts seem too small to carry a power armored Space Marine's weight. The model is otherwise well assembled and painted.
