Rune Priests and Psychic Nulls

Hmmm.

I'm not going to go all-in for this one, as there are more than enough quotes out there if anyone cares about my (or anyone else's) thoughts. But I'll say this: If you ever go into a situation believing one faction is right and another is wrong, you're not really coming at it from a 40K angle. In this setting, everyone is wrong, one way or another. Magnus thinks he knows the score, but it looks like he doesn't. The Space Wolves think their way is different and better, but it's probably not.

And, as a rule of thumb, if any one faction ever looks like it knows much more than any other, they're definitely deluding themselves. The same way if one faction is somehow unrealistically "better" or more powerful than its contemporaries.

ADB can come in anytime he feels that he needs to run his mouth about his inside information as a BL author or as an annoyed fan of SW fans.

Nice. Mature, too! I don't run around blabbing about insider information - you're more than welcome to provide sources for that statement, as you demanded of M2C. Don't cheapen someone else's contributions to a discussion just because they disagree with your interpretation.

Because all your ideas come from your poor comprehension and outright twisting of what the materials are saying. No one in the IP department agrees with you, and your ideas have never held any water whatsoever with the 40k universe. Your rabid desire to make space wolves special snowflakes who are better than anyone else is about as relevant to 40k as female space marines and lost legions. Ie it it doesn't exist. Magnus wanted a psychic human race, but not through how you're describing it. Fenrisians are in no way special. Whatsoever. They don't have special abilities others don't have.

WAIT JUST ONE SECOND!

Mr. Bowden, are you telling me Lorgar's plan to turn the whole human race into powerful immortals by serving the Gods of Axe Murder, Bubonic Plague, 70s Glam Rock, and Lawyers is NOT objectively the best plan ever in the whole entire history of planning?

No! I don't BELIEVE you!

WAAAAHHHH ADB IZ RUINING MAH 40K!

On that note, I'm an unashamed fan of every Legion (and every 40K faction, really; I'm amazed when anyone honestly finds it easy to prefer one Legion over the others) but the Wolves and the Blood Angels jusssst pip the others, in terms of nostalgia and stuff. I think one of my favourite things about the Wolves is just how their belief structures are so credible (to them, as they lack rulebooks, etc.) which in turn feels like part of a living, breathing culture.

Ultimately, no, the Wolves' interactions with the Warp are no different from any other Legion's (the main difference is, we've seen so much more of it compared to any other Legion's, so it looks unique) - unless, of course, we change that in the series, or a future book changes it. But the credibility of their beliefs is compelling.

And then again, it's 40K, right? Maybe their interactions are different, after all. You can never tell which way the winds of lore will blow. Things change. I don't see this one changing, but I'll never rule anything out - especially when, in 100% honesty, different contributors to the setting work on different levels of familiarity with the source material. You'll get that with every IP* - something will hit publication that has fans and other contributors narrowing one eye and saying "Abuh?"

* -- Especially Star Wars.

It looks everyone needs to simmer down.

I'm closing this thread for the moment.

IF it gets re-opened, I expect everyone to behave themselves and be able to document (citing source/page and quote) their point of view instead of just saying "you're wrong!"

Remember, everything you have been told is a lie.
