well hello all, I know I had settled on the XVIIth and XVIIIth. but I am still unsure. as I am about to walk away from 40K and go all out with the 30th, I am still grappling with the right Legio(s) for me. so instead of doing what I usually do I am going to actually do the test minis, and then seek input from the frater. bear in mind that while votes areencouraged, the final say will be mine. but, I have always liked community involvement.

with this I must leave. the sun might be coming out, and I could very well get some primer on some minis today! heresy minis of course.

Yeah. I'm sure the Red King said that at one point about Harry Dresden. A 40K analogy would be the Night Haunter! And look at the billions he slaughtered............

Awww, man. I thought I was being clever, not accidentally quoting another IP.

Stupid Dresden Files, being so important and awesome as to be ever present in my subconscious . . .

And you know Prime, you should ignore Captain Semper. You just should.

Except for the Bearers of the Word part. Don't ignore that part.

The Salamanders part you should ignore.

Not the first par(WEGETITCORMAC)

S'cool, you bringing up Dresden Files in a 40k thread just gave me a wicked idea on expanding the fluff for my World Eater and Emperor's Children Warbands. Summer and Winter mixed with some Red and White . . .

Red Court I can see in the World Eaters, White not so much in the Emperor's Children. Who is supposed to be which Fey court? The Fey I see more as Tzeentchian.

How about an unaligned Za Lord and his Guard?

The Fey courts are more in the name. Summer is Aestivan in Latin (or some such, it's been a while since I looked it up), which became the Eyes of Tivan warband. Winter was Hibornan, which became the High-Born.

And how is feeding off of the excessive acts of highly emotional acts not Emperor's Children? Remember, only the Raithes were about the lust and sex. The others favored different emotions.

Like that one family that caused people to commit suicide and the other family that fed off of fear.

Hmm, I always related the Summer and Winter Courts(Seelie and Unseelie respectively) to the old Scottish folklore where the Seelie Courts were the "good"(known to seek help from humans, to warn those who had accidentally offended them, and to return human kindness with favors of their own. Still, a fairy belonging to this court will avenge insults and could be prone to mischief) and the Unseelie were the "bad"(willingly attacked people and other malevolent acts). So far it seems to keep up with that. Unless you're talking about the warbands you're going to make.

And the Za Lord is obviously Chaos Undivided. Uses power as he sees fit within his moral code. Which happens to include genocide to protect his daughter, killing the Summer Maiden, killing the Winter Knight and killing the mother of his daughter. Although that last bit could go in with the genocide. A man who is willing to let the galaxy burn to save those he chooses to. Heck, he almost let Chicago burn.

Oh, you twoteehee.gif !

back on topic, yeah, I'll probably stick with the sallies. lot of potential there(I am assuming the whole DIY articifer thing isn't a strictly 40K thing) but the Word Bearers.....I just don't know. the EC really jump out at me. but so do the Death Gaurd.

on the note the DG test mini is in the works(partially painted even!)
