Tallarn: The Executioner

interesting...

how exactly did this sneak under the radar for so long? i mean it-s coming out in one month, and we only hear about now?

i wonder if it's the entire legion of the fourth that shows up on tallarn after the events in AE, or just a part of the legion.

and i also wonder who the fists are. part of the Phall fleet that got separated, a detachment from terra, or a third force we haven't heard about before?

According to C:IG, it was Iron Warriors vs Tallarn Desert Raiders, no mention of other Legions though both sides did funnel resources to the battle.

Edit: Ninja'd by Kol. That's the last time I bother to check my sources before posting.

No, I'm pretty sure Tallarn is the only battle in the background where a mortal PDF actually managed to defeat the might of a Legion. The Iron Warriors were the only Astartes there IIRC.

Index Astartes IV has the Imperial Fists and Iron Hands also present on Tallarn. I don't recall any source that states that only mortal PDF were involved.

we don' know why perturabo went there, if he went there at all! all we know is that ferrous ironclaw was there and a force of iron warriors thar bombarded tallarn into a toxic desert that has lasted for 10,000 years.

looking forward to finding the reason why tallarn had to die...

Gree: good find!

It is said that both sides received reinforcements. I suppose that could include those two Legions. However, the initial battles were between the Iron warriors and surviving Tallarn.

Edit: Battlebunnies (see Kol's link in Incoming Heresy Models thread) have it as a Iron Warriors vs the Imperial Army book. So probably what happens on Tallarn before any other Legions join in.

EDIT #2: 1000heathens won't like that cover tongue.png

Wanna bet? Just goes to show that getting into the thick of it isn't pretty for anyone. Plus, my boys turn the garden world of Tallern into a bloody desert; that would be called a win, mon ami.

Gree: Technically speaking, the PDF is just whatever garrison is in charge of protecting a planet. In 30K, they were something to be feared because they had the equipment, training and experience of the Imperial Army. In 40K, they're like militias in Utah.

And well, apparently I only partially recalled correctly since the Iron Hands are reinforcements.

EDIT: @Cormac: the same link is at the top of this thread. I just threw it in Incoming Models because the Night Lords were pretty. And they had Terminators!
