elphilo
I went with Deathwing Colors with bits of blue. http://i.imgur.com/Wfn5Wsll.jpg While officially they should be all blue. The tradition of painting the Deathwing bone outweighs that in my mind :P :) But in reality its what Bryan said. I didn't want to have a bunch of dudes in white/bone and one guy sticking out like a sore thumb. Isiah
What you mean the guy with the blue crackling lightning stuff coming out of his hands isn't going to stick out already <_<. I consider his blue armour (or black for the Chaplaincy, red for Techmarines) as being a mark of honour worn both to instil boldness to his own side and fear into his enemies. shabbadoo
I agree with your point shabbadoo but I think the armour is meant to be gold. He is a Blood Angel captain. Trust me, the model is painted in a desert yellow and brown camouflage pattern. It is just not as good of a picture as this one (yep, that is a desert/badlands camouflaged 1E Blood Angels Land Raider in the flesh): http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e245/btmcrae/balr.jpg They did things very differently back in the 1E era, like paint Space Marines in camouflage patterns that suited the theater of battle they were operating in. One or more old issues of White Dwarf featured variant camouflage schemes for a number of Chapters. Aradiel
yes they did things diferently back in 1st, but then marines were just normal guys in power armor, pumped full of combat drugs, that played cop on ocasion. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h222/caalsigo/roguetrader_05_zps58d65442.gif now they are geneticly modified super soldiers organized in knightly-esqe orders with the tipical over the top pride in their colors. camouflage no longer has much place in current astartes mind set back on topic, i allways paint my librarians in blue armor with a green shoulder pad, regardless of the armor they have, as librarians, just like all company masters, despite being members of the deathwing they are part of their own formations (respective company, librarium, etc). this said, they are your models so paint away as you like ps: like interrogator-chaplains too.
