How to build a weapon platform (after eating!)

For a long time, I've been wanting a platform base for my Hydra so that I could use the cheaper, more awesome version from FW in my games. However, I never had a platform to stick it on, only the chimera hull. Staring vaguely in a direction in my apartment, I noticed the size and shape of a food container recently acquired from KFC.

I noticed it would be perfect for my purposes, and really, any similar weapon platform that exists. Also, any size tupperware will also work just fine as well. The process is so simple, I'll leave it to the pictures to explain it all.

Enjoy!

Of course! All I've done is spray it the appropriate colors, and it could definitely use additional work.

Mainly, it's simply finding the inspiration to make the base out of an unexpected material. ;)

here's a website that might be of great use to you! i've used it to model my plasticard hydra emplacements for my imperial fortress:

when you wish to download a file, press "mediafire", this will open the link where you can find the rar-file

That's a good spot!

Pretty much the first thing I did this week having decided to start a new WH40k project for the first time in 20 years was find a shoe box and start filling it with random junk from our recycling bin. Back in the 1980s that's how we made all our scenery, there were no Aegis Defence Lines and so on to buy then!
