Oh, well then not a bad idea. Honestly, I've heard 2 x Heavy Bolters with the Sniper ability are good too.

I've heard that too. Now I'm no mathhammer guru but the HB will wound marines on a 3+. Sniper is a 4+ with the rending ,pinning, and potential for a precision shot. 3+>4+ in my mind.

 

I was going to do 2×plasma with sniper.

Like the heavy bolter going from wounding on a 2+ for the PG to 4+ with sniper rule is backwards to me.

I would vote for the 2 heavy bolters and sniper

 

That way you can move and shoot and assault (suspensor webs)

 

and you should get exactly one rending shot (6 shots between the hb, 1/6 chance of rending, derp) which kinda counts as a plasma shot, but auto wounds and counts as ap2 and doesnt have gets hot!

 

not a bad deal and will still let you assault if you so choose, which you proly should be doing with power weapon armed vets instead of trying to outshoot a tac squad.

 

As for the rhino, leave it at home if you are outflanking

  1. nerfs to shooting out of it
  2. no assault out of it
  3. 35 more points for power weapons and arti armor which you need
  4. unescessary (sp. check i hate this word) for outflanking

If you do do the hbs and sniper then i would take it too move them into a good position to assault some tacs the next turn while leaving the rhino in front of them to prevent fury of the legion shenanigans
