Scouts and IF Chapter Tactics

*****Math Hammer Warning******

Outflanking scouts on foot in units of 10 with just 8 bolters, 1 combi-melta, and 1 heavy bolter. This is again working with the reroll 1's on all bolters. The odds are calculated on the turn they enter the board so it's snapfiring the HB. I have also thrown in the pts/kill basically what it costs us to get that average kill (i used the w/ cloaks unit total cost in both cases).

Cultists  6+ - 7.5               19.7 pts/kill

Guard/Eldar 5+ - 7.5 kills    19.7 pts/kill

Orks w/Pedro - 7 kills     21.4 pts/kill

Orks 6+ - 5 kills            29.6 pts/kill

Tau/Eldar 4+ - 4 kills     37 pts/kill

Eldar 3+ - 3.5 kills         42.3 pts/kill

Necron 4+ - 3.5 kills      42.3 pts/kill

MEQ - 2 kills                 74/pts/kill

Orks w/Pedro - 7 kills    21.1 pts/kill

all that for 138 pts for 10 pts more you can give them cloaks for a cover save and try to outflank your way into cover.

I ran the odds with the current codex but I dropped the w/Pedro catagory since he currently does not have Preferred Enemy Orks. The same squad in the current dex runs 160 pts and costs 15 to add cloaks to.

Cultists 6+ - 6.5 kills          26.9 pts/kill

Guard/Eldar 5+ - 6.5 kills     26.9 pts/kill

Orks 6+ - 5 kills               35 pts/kill

Tau/Eldar 4+ - 3.5 kills    70 pts/kill

Eldar 3+ - 2 kills             87.5 pts/kill

Necron 4+ - 2.5 kills       70 pts/kill

MEQ - 1.5 kills                116.7 pts/kill

Did anyone ever try this tactic with the current codex? If so how did it work out for you?

This sounds like a nice cheap way to put allot of fire power in your opponents face. It increased the amount of average kills usually by at least .5.

EDIT: Added Cultists to the table since they are a popular choice for backfield objective sitters.
