Flamebringer
I am planning on starting a Blood Angels army, and would like to include a unit of five honour guard with power weapons and jump packs. For this I'd like to use Sanguinary guard, replacing their "wing packs" with a blister of regular jump packs. However I don't know whether the jump packs will fit on the sanguinary guard's back, and unfortunately the independent retailer near me didn't know either. So, my question would be whether a conversion like that would be possible, or if I need to find some other way of converting them. Finding power weapons in other boxes and putting them on a unit of vanguard seems like a valid approach, but I don't know if I'll have sufficient spares. I'm new at space marines, so I don't have an existing supply of power weapons. Buying the thunder hammers blister would work, but... then I'd have thunder hammers, not power claws :P. henrywalker
yes they fit. however the sanguinary guard jump packs can be put on without the wings and they look great so you wont necessarily have to swap, wait till you see the model Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/279134-converting-honour-guard/#findComment-3439229 Share on other sites
Flamebringer
Well that is even more excellent then. I had no idea that would work. Thank you! Why you would want nipples on a breastplate is beyond me though. Seleucus
Why you would want nipples on a breastplate is beyond me though. Mainly because practically every bell corselet or muscled cuirass found, or depicted in art or on monuments, whether early Italian/Etruscan, Greek or Roman all have the nipple clearly moulded on them. The ancient artizans went out of their way to portray the body as anatomicallly correct as possible, even on stylised armour. It follows, therefore, that any attempt to emulate that form of aesthetic would incorporate such detail as well, hence the nipples on the Sanguinary Guard and other models with similar armour. (And whose to say whether the nipples might incorporate miniature digital weapons or sensory equipment within them!?) CaptainHelion
Digital weapons incorporated into the very nipples of the armour, you say? Hmm. Now this is a concept worth exploring... Firepower
I think the skull would disagree.Depends on how kinky the skull is/was, I guess I don't think you'd be likely to find a Slaaneshy skull on a Khornate crotch. Then again, maybe both sides would see that as a win. Lucien Eilam
Digital weapons incorporated into the very nipples of the armour, you say? Hmm. Now this is a concept worth exploring... Digital weapons are so called because they're mounted on your digits. Unless you have fingers for nipples, they'd be called something else. Digital weapons are so called because they're mounted on your digits. Unless you have fingers for nipples, they'd be called something else. 'Digital' is also used to explain miniaturised 'computerised/electronic' items, hence the C:SM states that they can be concealed in rings, knuckles, OR Bionic Implants - ergo, bionic nipples!!! Lucien Eilam
Bionic implants in your fingers. C:SM doesn't say anything about it also meaning computerized items. Quixus
Don't forget that across the whole Imperium computers, that are not based on human brains, are heresy. So I doubt that meaning would apply in a WH40k context. CaptainHelion
Digital weapons, while specifically referring to finger-mounted (i.e. digit) miniaturised weaponry, can also less specifically refer to extremely miniaturised weaponry. Unless, of course, you want to go and start using the term "Papillial weaponry".
