Ozeryk_Sleipnijr
I am really looking foward to the new book. Its seems like a tool box. I wont have to buy tonnes of new minis and I dont have to be allied with the IG. Have any of you got similair plans. I have always liked the idea of having Deathwatch vets in my Great Company. Now the Great Companys forges have been expanded. Urauloth
Personally I just want to loot the new kits for heads and combi-weapons. To discuss your plan, though, what would you take in your allied contingent? I imagine it's mainly sternguard you want if you're representing deathwatch veterans. I'm not sure I can see a suitably wolfy UM troops choice for your mandatory, though? Tacticals just seem too... bland. Ozeryk_Sleipnijr
HQ & 1 standard unit of tacticals, one Elite, or storm, or support. The Ultramarinr combat doctrines are closest to how deathwatch would operate in my opinion. I will wait for the book and give a couple of the wolves the Deathwatch badge and get one box of marines, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/279211-allies-sw-deathwatch-vets-count-as-ultramarines/#findComment-3441817 Share on other sites
Squark
The troop choice is the main issue. A 5-man Sternguard squad with a Librarian or Captain leading them is a pretty good representation of a kill team, but unless there's some way to move Sternguard into the troops slot, Neither tactical squads nor scouts make much sense, and painting those tactical marines as Space Wolves is a recipe for confusion. Also, once members of the deathwatch have rejoined their chapter, they leave any death-watch equipment behind, so any Veterans of the Deathwatch within your packs could certainly paint their armor in Death Watch colors, but they wouldn't have access to the specialized ammunition stores the Deathwatch keeps. Frankly, what I really want to see is a Deathwatch mini-dex that let's you field just the kill team.
