Deathwatch Veterans Question

Recommended Posts

Hey, so what do marines look like when they are done serving in the Deathwatch? I have only seen one example in the Rynn's World book. There was that one guy who had the Deathwatch heraldry on his left shoulder pad and it didn't say anything else. Do they keep the left arm silver still and repaint the rest of the armor back to normal? I'm making a Sanguinary Priest in terminator armor (Flesh Tearers chapter) and I thought it might be cool to have his left arm silver, but have the narthecium white (I bought the deathwing apothecary bits for him) and then he'd be dark red of course with his black helmet and his other shoulder pad would be black as well. What are your thoughts on this, or what knowledge do you have on post deathwatch appearance?

When they return to their chapter after their Deathwatch 'tour of duty' they only keep the shoulder pad. The armor is painted back to the chapter colors.

They are sworn to keep all knowledge about the Deathwatch and the missions they undertook with it a secret.

Well the terminator/apothecary hybrid heraldry takes up most of the shoulder pad leaving little to no room for me to freehand the Inquisition "I", and it might be a bit unnoticeable to just have one shoulder silver. That's why I was asking about keeping the arm silver. Would they let them do that if they wanted to, and how do you think it would look?

How about hanging a GS =I= from the shoulder pad or on the belt like this or that bit?

Don't have either of those :(

You can also move the Deathwatch pad to the right shoulder pad, and keep the Apothecary shoulder pad on the left.

I'd have to do that because on the deathwing apothecary arm (which is what I am using) the shoulder pad is already attached

You could do the shoulder pad swap, so you would have the apothecary shoulder and the Deathwatch shoulder....but I personally think this is somewhat...disrespectful towards his chapter. It's like the apothecary thinks it's more important to show off that he was in the Deathwatch then to show his chapter iconography.

But the beauty of the hobby is that you can very well do what pleases you the most. So go for it. smile.png

Well since it's the deathwing terminator nathecium, the left shoulder pad is already attached to his arm and it has a cool crux/prime helix combo on it. Since the chapter shoulder goes opposite of the crux on termie armor anyways, I was thinking about freehanding the Inquisition I somewhere on his right pad while still keeping the chapter symbol as the main feature. What I'm not sure of is keeping his left arm silver though. Also, thanks for all of the input so far everyone!
