GhostMalone
Okay title self explanatory, I'm looking at for my next project investing in an airbrush and compressor. I'm thinking of doing something with vallajeo paints. Just wondering if any of my brothers can help recommend brands/sites to check. I like the look of the badger airbrushed showed on Templars crusades YouTube blog. teblin
Revell do a great starter kit, I got it for my birthday. It was my first airbrush and I quickly got the hang of it. It's not really any good for fine details but it's perfect for coating lots of models quickly. Firepower
Hm, what blog are you talking about? Anyway, I use a handy dandy Iwata Neo. A cheap little bugger at $50, but very reliable and sturdy. It's worked quite well for me, but I may have just slightly bent the needle tip, so it's been acting up as of late. As for a compressor, I use the Master Airbrush Compressor Model TC-20T. Also cheap but reliable (unlike Master airbrushes, which are utter knockoff crap). Lorenzen
I use a badger renegade krome, not an airbrush id suggest starting with due to the price, but later down the line very much so. Bung
I use 2 guns from Harder & Steenbeck. An Evolution with 0.4 mm muzzle and an Infinity with 0,15 mm muzzle for the detail work. Both are excellent from a german company which will give u a reliance on parts and compatibility. But both aint that cheap and i would suggest the Evolution as a starter pistol. You can do some professional work with that dual action gun. Rik Lightstar
I've just ordered a Harder and Steenbeck Ultra, it's their "entry-level" airbrush if there is such a thing at £60, I'll let you know how I get on with it. Artemid
A lot of it got nommed by the DB crash, but there are a bunch of good links and advice here: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/277387-a-plethora-of-n00b-airbrush-questions/ I did get an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS and Firepower's compressor. Loving them both so far :) I highly recommend at least going for a double action, and I'm finding the .35 workable for most details with enough control. Rik Lightstar
The H&S Ultra "Duo" comes with a 0.2 and a 0.4 needle and head, so gives you some flexibility. See if you can find one, it also worked out about 40% cheaper than the comparable Badger and even more compared to Iwata.
