It is kinda expensive..

How does the rune priests force weapon work now? can you make it a club with +2s and ap4?

No, they are all Unusual Force Weapons, so S as user, and AP3.

The newest Rune Priest model (shown with axe, above) doesn't have a Psychic Hood; he just had two cable connections to his temple that aren't symmetrical and look more like some of the comms equipment that Special Forces use. Not that it really matters.

Except for Njal- his is a staff, because they said so. *shrugs*

Yeah, except even in their "say so", they still messed it up:

"Page 53 – Njal Stormcaller, Staff of the Stormcaller.

Change the entry to read “Njal’s staff acts as a runic weapon(stave) that nullifies enemy psychic powers on the roll of a 3+

(see page 36).”"

So by clarifying that his staff acts as a Runic Weapon(staff), and all Runic Weapons are Unusual Force Weapons(regardless of apparent sub-type), they either failed to change it to anything other than S-User/AP-3 or they tacitly took away it's ability to Wound Daemons on a 2+.

What they needed to do, to achieve their intended goal, was to give it a stat block like they did for Frost Blades and Frost Axes.

Staff of the Stormcaller : S-User+2, AP-4, Melee, Force, Wounds Daemons on a 2+

^ This. At no point did the FAQ tacitly remove the 2+ daemon-wounding capability. It stated what sort of weapon it was, and clarified one specific attribute of the weapon, which in the case of Njal's specific weapon, is better than the norm. Ergo, the ruling described the deltas between Njal's hit-stick from the normal versions of it; it did not in any way remove any attributes ascribed to it by being a rune weapon (inherent abilities given to the baseline, bog-standard item), only clarified where it differed from the norm (that this one was in fact a staff, and that it was a 3+ instead of 4+ for psyker nullification purposes). All other attributes ascribed to the baseline version would per force be shared by the better version, unless specifically prohibited in the FAQ

That's not just RAW; it's RAI, too. Unless I'm totally reading this stuff wrong or there're tournament rulings that contradict. Even then, I'd argue the point.

i do believe his neck collar is raised a bit more and not just a standard neckguard. I think it resembles the new grey knights their neckcollar a little bit
