henrywalker
I'm using a very shiny metallic base on my grey knights (krylon premium chrome) I want to shade it but when I try using nuln oil it dulls the shine and makes it grimy. I tried Vallejo soft black which didn't shade it enough. Any suggestions? I have a pot of tamiya smoke but I've never used it so I don't know how it would look. Grand Master Caloth
Going to be trial and error. If you want to wash it but keep the shine, use a very small brush and apply ONLY to the recesses, that may help a bit. thade
Aye, don't hose it down; just hit the recesses. You can always add more, but taking it away is much harder. Adeptus-Alaska
when I was painting GKs, I used a mixture of 25% drakenhof nightshade, 25% nuln oil, 50% Lahmian medium. then, I would use this to make a "shiney wash consisting of 75% above mix, and 25% gloss medium. it worked for me and the results where not bad. hope this helps.
