I Return in Shame ...

Recommended Posts

Comrades:

I haven't posted in quite a while and you certainly noticed that this included a lack if updates to my ETL vow. Unfortunately some real world matters came up, including my wife being pregnant with our fifth child. The pregnancy was very difficult requiring me to pull a lot of extra duties and this naturally came out of my Warhammer time.

Sadly, the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage and I've been consumed for a while dealing with the grief and arrangements around that.

Not that I'm trying to make excuses -- a vow is a vow and I will wear the badge if shame when I have time to log in from a computer (versus my iPhone). I just wanted to let you guys know shy I disappeared ... I didn't want to be that guy who just feths off and doesn't face the music when he fails a vow.

Hopefully I'll be back to more regular posting before too long.

That's awful news sad.png I hope things get back to normal as much as they can for you soon.

Your vow's not a big deal though, there are more important things than a hobby so we pretty much assumed our MIA comrades had important stuff to handle and carried on. There's real life things and then there's important real life things so I don't think you should feel compelled to wear the badge.

As a forum we all failed in our goal, but we succeeded in our own way so a few of us are working on our triumph vows - of which include you! So drop in on the appropriate topics (the ETL one mostly) and make any requests for your model. Good to have you back Nico smile.png

my wife and i send our blessings to you and your family Nico. its a horrible thing to go through.

the only thing i'd say you'd need to be worried about in this forum though is not about wearing the badge of shame, its about how do you want to be modelled in the honour squads? argun's posted up some pics so far, if you drop him a line he'll probably add you in somewhere msn-wink.gif

Well, I'm prepared to wear to oath-breaker badge -- because I would not have completed my vow even if my wife hadn't suffered a miscarriage.

However, I noticed that I wasn't listed as an oath-breaker on the final ETL II report ... is this because my oath was "out of competition"? So, I'm not going to wear the badge if it wouldn't have been necessary/appropriate in the first place. But if it was, I'll wear it. Please let me know, Captain Semper.

Thanks Argun, but, I dunno ... I don't really feel right having a model in your army since I didn't come close to finishing my vow.

But if you insist, let me think about equipment for a couple days and I'll get back to you in your ETL thread.
