GrandMagnus
Interesting, but what about the scout company? After all your chapter needs scouts, right? Lotaurus
Yeah, I guess I have to include them. Due to scouts being acolytes and stuff. Madwolf Shadowmane
One question. Why did they change their organization. There should be a reason that they do not use reserve companies. Lotaurus
Some ideas concerning your question:1. The planets, where the marines are stationed on, are arranged in a girdle of seven planets with various moons. The Dawnguard has their companies spread over those to strike in a wide arc if necessary.2. One of the finest arts of the Dawnguard is entrenching themselves and thus keeping their casualties even lower than other chapters,so reserve companies aren't necessary.3. With standard organization, there would only be 2 assault, 2 devastator squads more and 4 tactical squads less. The Dawnguard likes the versatility of the tactical squads.Different topic:Any thoughts about changing Dawnguard to Dawn Guard? NightrawenII
Hello, some c&c: The Chapter is led by the 'Lord High Chaplain' who is the equivalent of a Chapter Master and fills the role as Chaplain additionally. - Hmmm, why? Homeworld The natives of Ieron used to be nomads, known as 'Arapii', until more and more Imperial citizens were moved to further populate the planet, thus leading to the construction of sturdy buildings that grew in numbers and size. - Why? Valued only by the brothers of the Dawnguard who send their acolytes to live and strife with the nomads in order to hone their survivability and instincts. - Where do they get these acolytes? Some ideas concerning your question:1. The planets, where the marines are stationed on, are arranged in a girdle of seven planets with various moons. The Dawnguard has their companies spread over those to strike in a wide arc if necessary. Space Marines are not used for garrisoning, the Imperium has Planetary Defense Force and Imperial Guard for that. The space marines are firefighters, who go anywhere where they are needed most. And, ahem, seven planets is not even sub-sector. One Chapter usually covers the area of sector or more (Novamarines are noted to operate throughout the entire Segmentum Ultima) Some ideas concerning your question:2. One of the finest arts of the Dawnguard is entrenching themselves and thus keeping their casualties even lower than other chapters, so reserve companies aren't necessary. Do you realize the detachments from Reserves are used for support of the main companies? ... which, by the way, means that Strike Force of Space Marine Chapter can be over 200 marines strong. ~ NightrawenII Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/279722-custodians-of-the-sunrise-index-astartes-dawnguard/#findComment-3465364 Share on other sites
