moivin
so I would regularly mix and match characters from different chapters in my old lists e.g. Vulcan and telion/chronus in the same list. now that it specifies that you may take characters within their own armies can you not use them if you pick a different chapters traits? so for instance could I have my own invented chapter using the imperial fist traits contain telion in one if my scout squads? Could you run a lysander and a tigirus proxy in the same list? Heru
No you can't, not legally. Though what you agree with your opponent is another matter. Raeven
Only by allying. Can still take Vulcan and Telion and Chronus in the same list, since Telion and Chronus are both Ultramarines. So one or the other will be your primary detachment and the other will be your allied detachment. Dam13n
Yep, the old "counts-as an equivalent character from chapter X" is dead. No Tellion or Chronus in a non-smurf detachment. RAW is pretty clear. - - - - - I know one player who plays Iron Hands who fully intends to ignore this and take Tellion but replace "Chapter Tactics Ultramarines" with "Chapter Tactics Iron Hands". I also know that I'll happily allow him to do this if we play each other. As it won't be a comp game (he's not a comp gamer) so friendly leeway should be allowed, at least IMHO. Grey Mage
No you cant, but as noted the codex has a built in workaround for this kind of thing. pyroknight
Can you still take Lysander and Kantor in the same detachment? Since they have the same chapter tactics. The top right corner of pg 77 makes it sound like this is legal. Seahawk
Yes. Same tactics = same detachment. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/279761-taking-upgrade-characters-from-different-chapters/#findComment-3454227 Share on other sites
