Centurion Obliterators?

Hey guys!

Been a while since I last posted, and my search-fu hasn't gotten any better.

With the release of the new SM Centurions, I figured a lot of CSM players would jump at the opportunity to convert these beasts into Obliterators.

Unfortunately, my searching of Google and various other forums have turned up nothing. I was even shocked when the staff at my LGS stated the idea hadn't even crossed their minds!

I have every intention of buying a set of these when I get some spare funds aside and giving it a crack, but I was hoping to see what other people had done for a little inspiration. I've come across a number of people who have made adjustments to waists and thighs etc, but these are not even close to what I was hoping to find.

So, with the combined might of the internets behind me... Has anyone had a crack at this? Or have you stumbled across it in your travels?

Many thanks in advanced!

~Mel

They would make good obliterators, as long as you modelled each obby weapon onto them, as by choosing the centurians you're taking the mechanical route

The problem with the idea is that the actual obliterator models are cheaper.

Why not just convert Obliterators from chaos terminators, where you get 5 for £28 as opposed to 3 for £47.50?

The obliterator models are waaay uglier as well (regardless of how ugly the internet keeps insisting that the centurions are)

I would rather convert from the Centurions over the chaos terminators because you get that extra bulk that I feel fits the Oblits better.

This is the main reason I hadn't converted the AOBR termies I have lying around - They look too weedy to be Obliterators, particularly when the codex fluff states that Obliterators dwarf Terminators - It'd take a fair bit of work on my end to make them truly menacing models, and as anyone who has seen my WIP thread will know, I'm lazy.

I feel the Centurions also have a more purposeful appearance when it comes to ranged weapons as well. The obliterators look >too< insane, as if they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn door. I know they're supposed to be corrupted and all that... but they're supposed to be living weapons.

I was thinking about trying it but was waiting to see what some people come up with before I take the plung.

This is pretty much what I was doing :P Perhaps I'll have to bite the bullet and just get the funds together. Be the first person on the internets to post something (which is something I've only ever dreamed of.)
