Legion command squad load out

I'm wondering what is considered a good load out for a command squad for an emperors children praetor?

 

They suffer from being really expensive and a very low model count unit.

 

My praetor is armed with a combi melta and (for a change from the normal praetor) a master crafted paragon blade.

 

For the command squad I was thinking of

5 man

5 power weapons

Melta bombs

 

This already rocks in at 215pts, plus the 210pts for the dude they are escorting!

 

And this doesn't even deal with any of the other cool options for the command squad, plasma pistols and/or volkite chargers for added ranged punch. Combat shields to make them almost terminators.

 

My only self imposed limitation on load out is that they all have to have power swords. From a fluff point of view they are part of the officer cadre and all officers in my expedition carry power swords and I am also going to be modelling them on the palatine blades.

 

Any advice on this point sink will be greatly appreciated.

Dude dont forget the 5 point upgrade for the sonic shrieker for your praetor. You cant pass up that simple upgrade for plus 1 initiative especially when you come across another praetor with another paragon blade.

 

As for the command squad you cant go wrong with 5 power weapons but you might want 1 or two axes and give both of them shields since they hit at I1.
