The Wrath Of Prometheus - A Salamanders P&M Log

Greetings everybody!

First post here on B&C, and I'm starting off with my Salamanders ongoing project.

I'm not really sure I'm following canon regarding the color scheme and markings of the Chapter, but after a little research I realized that there's some contradictions between books on the matter anyway. So I decided to go with a little artistic license on the matter, such as color coded helmets and the near absence of flame markings (don't really like them).

I hope you like them!!

I really like how youve done their bases. Not too heavy on the lava and yet excellently conveys the "Everything is a smouldering ruin when we're in town." feel. I think a light OSL effect on their leg armor would really pull it off.

Nice work!

I like how you say " I don't really like flames"......then paint some of the best flames (loincloth and bases) I've seen in a looooong time. Also the weathering on the Talon is fan :cuss ing tastic, :tu: :tu:  That's not to say the rest isn't upto scratch, because it is, but these two stand out to me.

Cheers,

Jono

Damn. These are probably the coolest salamanders I've ever seen. Looking forward to seeing more of these. Also, where is the pointing right hand from?

As an aside, I like it when people deviate slightly from the hard and fast canon on things like markings and helmet colours. Adds individuality.

Agreed, these are fantastic and the deviation does add character.

Kvlt, I believe that is the old metal pointing hand from the metal Devastator Sgt circa 3rd or 4th Edition. I used the same one on Sgt Guias for my Stoneburners.

Yep, great Sallies really. Your green is top notch and the storm has a lot of cool details that makes him stand out (esp the weathering).

I'm with Anaziel with the lava bases though. I suppose it's the "space wolves has to stand on snow bases" syndrom :)

Keep up !

Perfect weathering on the talon, IMO. Not overdone, I'll be emulating it when I come to weather my Raven.

Just noticing people commenting on the spirals - very well painted, but if the turbines were in motion, they would be continuous circles, due to the speed of rotation - the spirals are painted on there so you can tell instantly whether the engines are rotating or not :P

Thank you brothers for the positive C&C!!

Nice work!

That's a really good idea! I was thinking about it, but I have to do some tests first because I haven't done OSL before.

wow, these are nice! how do you get that green?

I exclusively used the new range.

- Waaagh! Flesh undercoat

- Warpstone Glow basecoat

- Coelia Greenshade wash

- Warpstone Glow highlight

- Moot Green edge highlight

- Lamenter Yellow glaze*

Welcome to the B&C!

Very nice work down to the spirals on the cones of the engines.... And look at that! Another Greek! biggrin.png

Aye! Glad to see a Brother from Deathworld Greece!

Really beautiful green and excellent Salamanders. Although I must say Im getting tired of lava bases on Salamanders, but thats just my opinion.

I just HAD to do it. The little voices in my head wouldn't have it otherwise. teehee.gif

Seriously, I came to 40K last year after almost 15 years of WHFB, with sand/dirt/pebble/grass bases and I really needed to do somethimg different!

Also, where is the pointing right hand from?

Its from 3rd of 4th edition IIRC. Its metal!

Well the human eye can see 24 FPS. I guess a power armor helmet with auto senses can do better! teehee.giftongue.pngbiggrin.png
