I like the colors. The green is a great non-dirty green, and the purple is a good complement. Nice and clean paint for a dirty demon.

Tip for the pictures: Take the picture from the same direction as the light, so you don't lose the detail and color when half the model is in the shadow, like seen in this picture.

Great start!

He said he was doing some plaguebearers next. So, the lord/HQ is done, and it's a great start on a force. It was only meant as encouragement since he just got back in to the hobby to paint.

The Prince is really well done, as I said previously.

Thanks for the feedback. :)

Father Mapple, appreciate the advice on taking photos and lighting. I think I'll re shoot the deamon prince later and edit the original post.

The green is a colour called Middlestone from a FOW paint set, I think it drys well as a putrid looking green for Nurgle models. I would have preferred to do the cuts in the flesh in some sort of luminous colour, but I don't have one currently so red had to suffice lol.

Very nice. Nurgle folks sometimes tend to mash a lot of green-brown colours together to make it look "dirty" which really just turns out as a not-so-well-done paintjob. You got around that, great job!

You're just lacking a biiiit on the base. Maybe some colour (simple grey with a few drybrushes would do fine). Maybe a space marine helmet or something similar, because there is so much space on the base? Perhaps of one of your friend's chapters?

Ok, in response to the base issue I came up with this:

I think that address's the bareness of the base in quite a fun kind of way.

Everything looks superb, and papa would be so proud of these daemons.  In truth, the only thing to improve are the plague bearers base.  They are just so plain.  If add some touches, like you did on the prince base, they would truly be perfect.  Also would love to see those plague drones!!!!!!!!

Thanks very much for the feedback Uprising.

I'm detecting a recurring theme here, the bases are not good :)

Might have to review the Plague Drones before I put them up here then.

I'm beginning to think this should have been started in the WIP forum now. :)

I'll be back.

I quite like these. The one thing that stands out to me is the Demon Prince's sword. It looks like you went for rust, yes? It looks more like a steel blade that was washed orange/sepia though. Clean and tinted a funny color, rather than dirty and corroded.

On that last 5 man squad, did you rethink your palette after some test models, or are you actually using different shades deliberately? The guys on the ends don't match have the same colors as the ones in the middle. If that's deliberate, I applaud you thumbsup.gif A bit of variation in a fleshy army does wonders, especially one as...erm.."colorful" as a nurgle army. EDIT- Just bothered to scroll back for a second look, and it seems it is indeed deliberate. Gold star for you.

Ah, one other thing on the Demon Prince. The armor cuff of his left hand, I hadn't noticed until the close up. The ridge of the armor is painted the pale tone of his flesh rather than finishing the color of the armor. This bugs me, deeply biggrin.png

Thanks very much for the feedback Uprising.

I am a true believer in proper base. You spend countless hours painting these models(yours are truly amazing), but then spend ten mins on the base, just makes no sense. The model is the character back story, the base is its purpose for waging war and the war zone itself.

Its like this

Prince:Why did you summon the great and neurotic (insert name)?

Apostle: To destroy and loot the slaves of the emperor.

prince: (looks around) Really, you summon me, me to loot/destroy a desert. Seriously all i see is sand, why are you looting sand? Next time loot/wage war on a forge world or a space marine home-world. I am going back to the warp to wait for the 14th black crusade.

To make it better, why not add some blood splatter, more of those plants, corpses/ destroyed equipment, nurgle infection, etc. Personality, i use this tutorial with city rubble theme bases(cork board). so cheap, easy, but really capture the feel of total apoc. hope this helps. http://fantasygames.com.pl/blog/how-to-make-nurgle-base/

Firepower, yes indeed the shade variation is deliberate. There are five varying colour schemes in all, my thoughts were that although there is a need for a unit to have a coherent colour scheme to mark them as members of the same unit the variation improves the visual impact of the unit, providing its not over done.

I must admit that the dark green irks me as it didn't really turn out very well.

The sword, yes, it is a little lack lustre, particularly as I think I achieved a nice rusted effect on the bearers blades.

It's something I'll have to revisit I think.

Oh, I'll need to touch up that cuff then :D

Uprising, damn it when you put it like that it really is poor show :d. Raiding a desert really is below a chaos deamon horde. Many thanks for the tips, I will be making a concerted effort to improve those bases!

Ok,here are my drones, following last weeks commecnts I have rebased them:

I am quite pleased with how the bases turned out this time round.

Feedback welcomed!! :)

Changed the thread name as I'm now going to use this as a one stop shop to show what I've done.

Not collecting anything with a view to building an army just collecting models that I like and painting them. smile.png

Couple pics here of my Deathwing termies:
