Uprising
For $180, I bought a daemon of khorne army, It included 9 blood crusher 2 daemonic princes with wings 1 blood thrister 1 partial soul grinder 1 metal skulltaker 20 flesh houmds(10 old metal chaos hounds, 10 dire wolves) 70 bloodletters 3 flamers custom made army case. I play nurgle, but since I also bought a forge world World Eater army recently, so it just works. So is khorne a competitive army? Thoughts on possible list (1000 pts-2000 pts). Centurio
I took second place in a tournament of 15 players yesterday with this list: Bloodthirster with 2 greater rewards Skulltaker Herald on Juggernaut with exalted reward Herald with exalted reward 20 Flesh hounds 20 Bloodletters , icon, instrument 10 Bloodletters, icon 10 Bloodletters, icon Bastion with Icarus lascannon Bloodthirster is made durable due to the 2 greater rewards. You have a good chance of getting a rerollable invuln save or FNP Skulltaker leads 20 bloodletters The jugger herald joins the flesh hounds and takes the grimoire The other herald mans the Icarus lascannon just because it amuses me to have BS7, plus takes the portalglyph to throw into my deployment zone to create objective holders. Move the dogs to where they are 20" or less from several enemy units, then you have multiple charge targets every turn. I got frustrated rolling 1s and 2s on the grimoire so sometimes I didn't bother. 40 T4 wounds with a 5+ invuln takes a while to kill and they won't have much time. I beat a codex space marine army, an elder serpent spam army, and necrons with this list. The Necrons were the toughest fight but that's because the scenario was relic which meant I had to worry about controlling that in the center of the board with metal skeletons able to drop in anywhere. If I changed the list I would remove 2 banners and change Skulltaker to Karanak who would lead the 20 bloodletters. This will give them scout and rage. A lot of fire will be directed at the hounds so the big bloodletter unit will be a secondary target at first. If the hounds get to depleted the jugger herald can leave them and go help the bloodletters. / Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/280317-i-bought-an-army-by-accident/#findComment-3463109 Share on other sites
Black_Crusader
Flying circus could work too Take a second bloodthirster and put 20 fleshhounds, at least 40 bloodletters and then depending on point limit add daemon princes and more letters. With what you have you could play a 1500 point list with the 3 FMC the hounds and letters. edit: nice buy, by the way Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/280317-i-bought-an-army-by-accident/#findComment-3463117 Share on other sites
Uprising
How about 1000 pts tournament list. I have one coming up soon, and trying out different lists ideas. centurio; That list looks fun, how many pts? Centurio
Its 1500. At 1000, drop the bloodthirster, bastion, and non-jugger herald first. Then drop to 16 dogs, I think. Keep Karamak to lead a big mob of Bloodletters. Lead the dogs with your jugger herald and grimoire. If you meet a land raider ignore it and kill everything else. The dogs should be great at 1000 and your bloodletters can clean up. I don't know about going for a flying circus at 1000 as I haven't really used that type of list. Brother Tyler
How do you "accidentally" spend $180? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/280317-i-bought-an-army-by-accident/#findComment-3463896 Share on other sites

FashaTheDog
How do you "accidentally" spend $180? It happens quite frequently, actually... As to what to do with what you got, you need only add three Bloodthirsters to run my standard 2,000 point Daemon list. Bloodthirsters: Greater & Exalted Reward Bloodthirsters: Greater & Exalted Reward Bloodthirsters: Greater & Exalted Reward Bloodthirsters: Greater & Exalted Reward 5 Bloodcrushers: Hunter w/ Greater Reward 12 Bloodletters: Reaper w/ Greater Reward, Banner of Blood 12 Bloodletters: Reaper w/ Greater Reward 11 Bloodletters: Instrument 11 Bloodletters: Instrument Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/280317-i-bought-an-army-by-accident/#findComment-3464441 Share on other sites

Centurio
Wow, 40 dogs, thats nasty! I just ordered 2 more skull cannons so I can add 3 to my list to bring it to 1850 (with minor adjustments). How have the cannons worked out for you? FashaTheDog
Yeah there is something about running four Bloodthirsters that scares the pants off most people. I only wish I could run more (I own eight, but still need a Daemon Prince Angron). I find that Bloodthirsters really benefit from the most of the greater and exalted rewards. If you get lucky and roll FNP (4+) for your greater and/or the exalted Souleater, then you are going to make your foe's life rather miserable. I've gotten both on the same Bloodthirster a few times, and it makes them damned near unkillable without ID. If you roll a result you do not like or are ambivalent about, then giving the Bloodthrister a magic weapon is great as you gain an additional attack since he comes with a specialist weapon. Rampage is a nice addition if you get say the 3+ save and the Eternal Blade is even better. It bumps him to I 10, but more importantly, it effectively gives him an additional 2-4 attacks at S7 (S8 on the charge). The net result of the Eternal Blade is that on the charge you're WS & I 10 with 8+D3 S8 attacks. Having both gifts is more than worth the 50 points, as only the 3+ save is no good, but that means you swap that result for rampage and keep whatever exalted you get, so no real loss there. Worth hunting about for the points, in my not-so-humble opinion. Centurio
I roll 2 greaters on my blood thirster. I often get FNP and +1W/IWND, or FNP and reroll invuln save (which is awesome). You have a good chance of getting FNP with 2 greater rewards. How have the cannons worked out for you? They work well and never miss. Been leaving them off the table if I can’t hide them and then driving them on and firing. They have a 5++ save so they are not that easy to kill. The icons and instruments let me chain deep strike shenanigans. It’s not a good list to play the tournament tua and eldar but it’s pretty balanced to my stores meta. If anything I find the Bloodthirster to be to killy. He lands, wipes a unit and then gets shoot to death. I would drop him but I need something to bust a landraider.
