Corvus Corone
...well, can you? Can you repair the beast in battle?I see no reason why not at the moment, but I can see people having an issue with it because it's just so strange... Imagine, a techmarine repairing a soaring aircraft mid battle. Jolemai
It would need to go into Hover mode first. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/280350-stormraven-blessing-of-the-omnissiah-can-you/#findComment-3463967 Share on other sites

Lucien Eilam
The rules for flyers say measure to the hull and ignore the base for all purposes except for assault and embarkation, so I don't think he can technically ever be in base contact with it. If he's embarked, there's no problem. Imagine him communing with the Machine-Spirit to re-route damaged systems or something if it makes it easier to picture. Corvus Corone
I'm not so sure that that covers it.Codex rules are dominant over rulebook rules, blessing of the omni says move into base contact. The rulebook also gives other examples of times the base of a flyer is used right after saying you should mostly ignore it.Honestly I think RAW atm is that you can, until they FAQ it. Lucien Eilam
The codex doesn't redefine base contact, it just says move into it. The rules say that "contact" for flyers means the hull, unless you're assaulting or embarking. If you can move your Techmarine such that his base is in contact with its hull, he can repair it. If you manage that, nobody will argue about how he's repairing it, because who's gonna mess with a 30' tall Techmarine? Jolemai
It would need to go into Hover mode first. Jolemai - Can you explain why please? In hover mode the Stormraven follows the rules for Skimmers. Skimmers can be assaulted (i.e. models move into base to base) but Flyers can not. Therefore, you can move into base to base with a Stormraven in Hover mode in order to repair it. infornography
You can always repair a flyer from the inside. The rules explicitly allow for that. From outside the flyer though the answer is uncertain in the rules. It needs to be FAQed. Dam13n
BRB FAQ bottom of page 7 and top of page 8: Q: Can a model with the ability to repair Hull Points orImmobilised/Weapon Destroyed results from the Vehicle DamageTable use this ability on Zooming Flyers? (p80) A: No, unless they are embarked upon the Zooming Flyerwhile attempting the repair. Seems pretty self explanatory.
